How bad is it if some hard panned stuff disappears when played back in mono? Got some loud as fuck double tracked guitars that sound great in stereo but in mono I can't hear em.
Adrian Harris
depends on your audience a lot of people listen on phone speakers, laptops, mono bluetooth speakers and whatnot
Gabriel Johnson
It's loud as fuck drone doom. Doubt anyone will listen to that on teeny tiny speakers. Or at all.
Julian Parker
in that case it's fine everything goes if you don't have to at least somewhat cater to normies
William Collins
I'm learning to jam in my daw (fl). Here's a few ideas I recorded today. How does it sound? does it have a nice feel/vibe? I recently learned a way to make my mixes sound MUCH better and that is to turn up the gain on my instruments, for the longest time I recorded things too quietly. The colors in a lot of plugins start to show at higher volumes and I can focus on turning things down in the mix as opposed to compressing every little thing to make it stick out the tiniest bit.
I also used this same approach on this tune. I'm kinda just playing whatever, kinda psychedelic, not double checking the theory like I used to or really caring whether something is diatonic or fits the changes, just playing an idea right as it comes to me and trying to work other things around it to fit instead. Turning up the volume has kinda allowed me to open up and be less surgical.
Yes, that’s the rule. I mean really, think about the relationship between the autechre guys, what do you think has kept them together all these years, a love for music? Fuck no, they are DEEP in the closet together
Grow up on it and never branch out

based charlsposter makes music that sounds like it would be on worldpeace.

vocaroo.com/9r5MovQK2aQ One week home and I'm already losing my mind. I resorted to just combining different samples in vocodex until it sounds interesting.
I feel like you're trolling with the drums honestly.
i'd be interested to hear this approach in a different song. >One week home and I'm already losing my mind. Welcome.

Hey buddy, how you holdin up? What have you made today?
Dylan Price
Im still working on drums, ill definitely try to make more chill.
Have you ever listened to 2step?
Nathaniel Anderson
>2step i'm pretty fucking big on garage lol there's a lot of going on that just seems random rather than actually coming together into a groove
Aaron Smith
Yea i totally agree, the drums are still shit. But i did mention i was still working on the drums. I honestly love that your are giving me shit on it too, it inspires me to push myself
Hudson Phillips
it's no problem man I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, the music is quite nice
Brandon Peterson
I honestly have been working on my drums, with this song i focused more on the melody and sound design. I will definitely come back with better drums soon enough. I definitely appreciate the feedback.
Alexander Carter
What is 2step?
trying to convince myself I have everything I need to start and I din't need to acquire more software.

It's more time consuming to find the the kicks, snares, claps etc. I want than mixing
MAKE A SMALL LIBRARY YOU DUMMY 5 kicks 10-20 claps/snares and 10 hats that you use over and over. Absolutely solid samples only, no bullshit I know you're trappin bro, that's the ideal workflow if you spend to much time looking through samples
Ryder Johnson
also to add to that, label what note your kicks are playing. Tuning is annoying and just fucking pauses your session, NO MORE!
Dominic Lopez
>I know you're trappin bro I'm actually Drum 'n' bassin and UK Garagin' my dude
i made thisand a couple more that i will post in the next thread
Gavin Young
>MAKE A SMALL LIBRARY YOU DUMMY >5 kicks 10-20 claps/snares and 10 hats that you use over and over. I'm afraid someone will notice, but I guess I can tinker with them to make them sound uniquer
I keep an assorted library of favorite drums, autistically sorted by category, collecting from any sample pack I download that is 99% shit (the vast majority) and have a couple go to packs that I keep intact. The bonus side of this is that on your "off" days where you have writers block or whatever, sorting through sample packs to build your own compilation gives you busy work to do and you may come across something that inspires you.
I have no idea who is who anymore yall are confusing me

Hey guys Cymatics just released its official response to Coronavirus... And it's HUGE!
Can someone help me find an FL torrent that won't give my computer Coronavirus?
Aiden Allen
is there a go too all around transparent combo amp thats good for anything, accoustic guitar miced up, electric guitar with pedals and modeling, bass guitar, stage piano, synthesizers, drum machines and drum pads, upright bass.
I need some kind of combo amp that i can plug anything into. Roland keyboard amp maybe or a high end bass combo amp like a GK, im guessing at least 100 watts.
Julian Morris
fl is not the easiest to find good copies of
no and you're asking way too much of a single amp
Leo Martin
i basically have no budget, so long as its not insane, like im not spending 2k on an amp unless its spectacular, id spend 1k if it does the job though and i can use it to jam with a peizo'd upright then plug a jazz bass in, then plug a sampler in.
Think i need a pa, but i honestly just want something i can use as a loud practice amp for most instruments i play, something that doesnt weigh 400lb and i can actually carry without needing a van for a fuckin pa system.
Levi Williams
wont help if your pussy already has it
Connor Allen
What DAW do you recommend then?
William Rogers
ight do u niggas choose a key when making a song
Ryder Ortiz
>no and you're asking way too much of a single amp
Ive just found a roland kc600 which seems to be exactly what im looking for. 200 watts, on wheels, 4 stereo inputs line, xlr mic input, aux input, id have to preamp a bass/guitar, but i can live with that sub $1000 too
Worried about how well it would mic up an accoustic guitar or upright bass though. Laney do similar gear too, i just need to find some demos of them with lots of different gear plugged in.

roland keyboard amp is your best bet for all around.
I've used mixcraft for the past 10+ years. People laugh, but it has a lot of power once you dive deep into the features. It's basically garageband for windows, but on super-steroids
fuckoff
Nathan Nelson
>it has a lot of power once you dive deep into the features Just like every other daw, but worse lol

Nicholas Morris
>roland keyboard amp is your best bet for all around.
Yeah just having a look on youtube at roland kc series keyboard amps, peavey keyboard amps and some other brands.
Ive used a friends little 100 watt cube bass practice amp before and it was pretty good so i guess im going to have to try and find somewhere that stocks roland keyboard amps when this virus thing dies down and ask to try a guitar and a bass through it.

How the hell do you download omnisphere? (Cracked)

i've recently become interested in FM8 again, kind of thought of a new approach last night, but after messing with it for the last 20 minutes I remembered how frustrating the lack of routability and modulation is.
Is fm8 really still the undisputed king of FM in current year? I love the new wavetable and granular offerings to come out over the past couple years but I find it really hard to believe that nobody has made an fm synth, even with its own shortcomings, that attempts to improve where fm8 falls flat
