Left side Edition Last thread: My fellow Yas Forumstants, the time is finally here. The polls are ready and the entries have been uploaded. Time to vote for the first eight songs in this round of 16.
Yesterday I had the chance to listen to these first eight tracks. Let me tell you, boy oh boy, we've got some legit bangers spanning over several genres. Pity only half of these tracks get to advance to the next round. Hope you're as excited as I am.
>VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER: YOUR IDENTITY CAN’T BE REVEALED BEFORE THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT OR IT WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION. However, when the tournament is over anyone can shill away at their discretion.
Tracks and poll in my next post. Poll closes 24 hours after it gets posted, so I strongly encourage you to take your time before voting.
Feel free to discuss the entries and give the thread a bump.

Lampshade is a good song, though I wish it progressed a little. Felt like it was a little quiet and undermixed, but the playing in the guitars and the tone was great. Drums could've been a more dynamic, especially during the build up at the end.
Oliver Thomas
First match up is legit hard, both songs are good in their own right
Ryan Howard
Lampshade is so good wtf
Eli Edwards
Thought Bedroom Rain was gonna be some twinkly emo but then it turned into a lo-fi hip hop beat to study to, a little disappointed by that
Easton Cox
Lampshade - Really nice atmosphere and guitar tunes gives the song a nice neo-psychedelia vibe, as other posters said though it would be nice to see the track progress a little more 4/5 V-TEC - Dope beat with a cool atmosphere that really fits the atmosphere of the vocals, the biggest problem for me is it sounds like a blatant $uicide Boys rip off, everything from the beat to the first rapper sounding very much like Skrim and the second sounding a little (but not nearly to the same extent) like Ruby, overall enjoyable track still though 3/5
Hunter Hernandez
Lampshade has a nice sound. I'd like to hear more from this artist. V-TEC was a well put together banger. Fun song, but lyrics were hit and miss. It still narrowly wins out for me.
Bedroom Rain and The River are both slow burns. But Bedroom Rain has more substance and variety so I was more engaged.
The Soldier Man. Lol. Sem Gödöllő, Sem Szentendre is dope when everything comes in. I'm not the biggest fan of the vocals, but the instrumentals are awesome if a bit repetitive.
Hard to find too much criticism for any of these though. Good stuff Yas Forums
Ryan Thomas
Lampshade is nice, but again, wish it progressed more and had a little more power. V-TEC was nice and bangin' but felt like a lot of similar hardcore florida hip hop. WINNER: V-TEC
This Is Nice Board felt like a throwaway track, nothing really stuck out to me about it but I felt like there could be something underneath if it was only given time to come out. Waste starts out very whatever, but the second half with the soft chorale sample and the beat is really based, reminded me of CD Factory from DDS. WINNER: Waste
Bedroom Rain started with strong potentially but left me bummed when it kind of turned into a lo-fi chill beat. The fingertapping is kino though. The River felt very basically to me, like it was using a bunch of preset synths. I tried to get into the atmosphere of it, but it never sucked me in. WINNER: Bedroom Rain
The Soldier Man is actually cool in a Christtt kind of way, but it really does just feel like a meme track that was cobbled together. Sem Gödöllő, Sem Szentendre is fun and energetic but also very one note. WINNER: Sem Gödöllő, Sem Szentendre.
Overall, I wish more of these had vocals and were more fleshed out, a couple felt super unfinished which I think is going to make them lose to more finished tracks, making the match ups a little one-sided. Good job overall to everybody who made these tracks.
Samuel Torres
This Is Nice Board - Voice has really cool aesthetic and sound to it, nice simple sound to guitars and builds into great instrumental for the outro 3.5/5 Waste - I'm not the best person for judging this track as I'm not much of an EDM listener or most electronic music in general but I actually still liked this track, it progresses very uniquely from section to section and never gets boring 3.5/5 (narrowly voted for this one)
Blake Cruz
Bedroom Rain - That acoustic guitar throughout the song is fantastic, love how it moves around and builds up particularly through the second half of the song, and the small hints of secondary guitars in the background in certain spots really adds to it too, my biggest complaint about the track would probably honestly be the drums, contrasted with the lively very warm and human feeling guitar playing the drums can come off as cold and robotic, particularly how the hi hat ticks repetitively, still an awesome track though 4/5 The River - This one's kinda tough for me cause I really like the first two thirds of the track with the build up but I feel like it kinda falls apart in the last minute of the song, not really a fan of the drums put on it, partially with the same complaints of the previous song but it also felt a little off time and the consecutive kicks i think it was at certain parts felt out of place, lots of potential clearly shown with much knowledge of how to build a mood, 3/5
Parker Flores
Whoops. I missed This Is Nice Board vs. Waste. Waste takes it for me. Lots of variety. Like most of these songs, it gets better in the 2nd half.
Sebastian Powell
The Soldier Man - Really interesting song with lots of ideas clashing but I feel like the excecution is not quite there, a specific mood is never really built up, with often the changes feeling directionless, this is clearly to jar the listener but it is done so extensively and all over the place it comes off a bit amateurish, interesting ideas on the track though and would like to see the future progression of this artist as these ideas are honed in more 2.5/5 Sem Godollo, Sem Szentendre - Great track, cool atmosphere, the guitar in the background really adds to the feel of the song which has a great hop and enjoyable beat 4/5

>This is nice board
Nice tune but fuck your voice can't hit half the notes. Very bad, bro. Some artists like Conor Oberst and Cobain and Dylan could pull that off but definitely not you
Jeremiah Cox
I'm with what this guy said except the first match-up. The one track that really got my attention is Waste. Mad shit right there
Carson Bell
uhh rude? this is nice board

John Lennon shakes your hand and signs you.
Austin Baker
Constructive criticism. The tune is nice and your voice is fit for it but you miss a lot of the notes and it was bad. You have potential if you fix your vocals
Tyler Peterson
eternal bragging rights and fame on Yas Forums or Laura Les sucks your dick, you choose

V-TEC goes stupid hard, but I think I like Lampshade better
David Garcia
Thanks, I really appreciate all feedback

Lampshade is soul food Waste is mad, the switch-up is great Bedroom rain is a bit disappointing but beats that shitty ambient for sure that Hungarian title is fuckin mad too. the vocals lack a bit, still, a strong wall of sound.
Jacob Wood
Out of this half my favorite track is Sem Gödöllő, Sem Szentendre. That upbeat shit and tasty bass fills are my jam even though I don't understand a word.
Landon Russell
Also unlike other anons have said, I do love the vocals. They go well with the vibe and the melody is catchy.

Waste and Sem Gödöllő, Sem Szentendre are both awesome tracks. Glad they're not up against one another right now

Bumping the thread. Gonna listen to them all, consider hard and vote. I'll submit a track to the next thread, this is a cool idea.

Yeah, if this tournament runs smoothly and there's enough interest we'll do another one with 32 entries next.
