i'm not trying to start shit but what do you see in it? i see a lot of anons praise prince of rain, but aside from the wacky instrumentals in the middle (stuff like rainstick fizz plus) that are actually pretty good, the rest of it is just copy and pasted stuff from other unrelated projects
earth jump is just an unedited recording of live at primavera but cut down, and the two ambient bodyguard tracks were already an EP

earth jump was first - notice the lack of cool bird sounds
and the rain tracks just work with everything else
it just feels so cohesive despite being a weird loosies fan comp

I just have hard time immersing in his early music nowadays, everything around me is too digital and sterile. Not that there is anything bad in it, its the way we use it. I can't replicate the time where it would place me into another world and feel like I have overdosed.

I like all kinds of genuinely experimental music; I just find him dull as shit.

A lot of the drone and minimalism stuff can be off putting to some. I'd recommend checking out his more hypnagogic focused work like Night Dolls and some of his more songwriter focused work like Skid Row and the like.

The name translates it well. It's about an homogenized planet, hyperreality, cheapness, mobility, commerce. Captures the time perfectly (maybe even if you live in Laos or something).
