i like proggy metal

anyone else has problems remembering prog bands names? I usually just go to a camel song on youtube and go from the recommended

And You and I is the greatest prog track of all time

But how can that be when theres 2 better songs on the album.
Anyone listen to pic related, really loving it recently

Why is it impossible for me to like Genesis? I can't put my finger on it, something makes me hate them so much.

Le Eggbro has arrived
>Why is it impossible for me to like Genesis?
They were a band for gay furries in the 1970s and for boomers after that

If you dont like Post Trick of the Tail Genesis I understand, not Liking any of Foxtrot, Nursery Cryme, Lamb... or Selling England by The Pound I do wonder if Prog is the genre for you

Had a similar experience, now love it on 5th listen. Makes me feel guilty though as if I forced myself to like it but It kinda just grew on me

thoughts? it's pretty comfy but also dark, still not sure whether i like this or pale communion more

based
Have to agree with , I started to like it more over time. I still prefer the Godbluff trio and H to He, though.

Attached: based and REDpilled.jpg (125x75, 1.85K)

Pale Communion is their best prog album in my opinion, it's a modern masterpiece. In Cauda feels too long to me and there's not much dynamic to it. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future but right now I also prefer Sorceress over it.

NOT SO FAST

Is progressive pop fine? Because this record has some bangin' jazz fusion on it
he looks like a roadman

Listening to Pale Communion now, avoided Opeth up to now because every story of insufferable Prog fags was always some guy who put a 30 minute Opeth song on when handed the aux cord. Yes a retarded reason not to listen but there you go

Wow this is fucking great, thanks user. Gracias!

one of 3

Carti's samples and beats are greats but his voice is fucking unbearable most of the time.
That's probably the main reason I don't like Cloud rap, all of their voices are annoying as hell to listen to.

Caravan 9 feet under ground.

This is the best KC album and probably in the top 3 prog releases of all time.

how

Every KC album is great. Even Construkction and Beat, they're all fantastic and unique in their own way.

To me it's their densest, strangest work, with the oddest yet most successful aesthetic, probably because they just decided to go as bombastically far with the thematic as they could. Instrumentation is uniquely beautiful - jagged, twisted yet ethereal, really accentuated in the 40th anniversary. It's a dynamic mideval, decadent, occultic circus sound which is somehow pulled off perfectly; nothing lags and the tracks unravel the album like an ornate tapestry. I know their Sinfield period isn't widely popular beyond the debut, but the whole surreal mythical aim of it was best realized in Lizard.

ok i respect that, thought you were just trolling at first

I think it's a shame that's how the opinion is usually taken. I think it's disregarded by a lot because it's regarded as a throwaway on a meandering period until Larks. People should give it a closer listen though.

Nothin' personal kid

Why is Italian prog so great?

Attached: cover_255372572009.jpg (300x300, 29.14K)

i liked it after i saw that scaruffi gave it an 8.

Happy Family stinks. Circus and Title track are the best tracks.

Seriously, I don't know how he gets such god-tier producers and beat-makers to work with him because he's basically nothing without them

no it's Islands

nevermind, just listen to it again and it clicked, why is van der graaf so good bros?

Based, Lady Fantasy got me into prog rock
You probably already know this, but they released their second album two years ago
Their 2nd best album from the new era after Pale Communion, but they sound different enough from each other to enjoy both

>Not giving Pawn Hearts a 10
Cringe

Wonderful album. One of my favorites.

I know Fripp is credited for guitars here but I'm still unable to hear him. I feel dumb.

Which is surprising. For some reason I thought he'd dislike Graaf. Weird that he still disparages Genesis.

Based thread all around lads. Been getting really into VdGG lately myself, really enjoy everything I've heard from them as well as Hammill's solo stuff

This is one of the most disgustingly happy albums I've listened to. Makes me want to vomit. But I like it.

What went wrong?
All his material Up to Hand Cannot Erase was great and his new stuff is really uninspired

Cirkus, Lady of the Dacing Water, Bolero and Big Top are great, but the rest of the album blows.
