he's great in comedy bang bang. he is funny, you are just too far up your own ass to accept that simple humor can be funny.

Most of his songs aren't laugh-out-loud funny. Some are, like the Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota, but that's the exception, not the rule. Doesn't matter to me though, because almost all of his songs sound great.

It's important to remember his music is a product of the pre-youtube days. Song parodies are everywhere now and there's been a change to song parodies being ABOUT the song they parody instead of just using it as a vehicle for humor about something else with the fact that it was an accurate re-creation of the original being enough as a set up for the joke. The latter feels very strange to modern audiences, even for someone like me who grew up on him.
