How do boomers feel abou Yas Forumscore and Yas Forums as a whole changing?
How do boomers feel abou Yas Forumscore and Yas Forums as a whole changing?
this chart is barely any different from 2011 Yas Forums
Some of nu-Yas Forumscore is better than old Yas Forumscore. Yas Forumscore has mostly just been slightly off-kilter pop albums
what's the first one on third row, second on fourth row, and third on fifth row
>playboi carti - die lit (shit)
>tyler the creator - igor
>slint - spiderland
Iger and Blond isn't Yas Forumscore lol and neither is Bladee
Rest seem right
Mucore was always horrible, I have no problem with it continuing to be terrible
Definitely good. Dadrock shit like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Soft Machine, Zappa, etc. was more of a holdover from Rolling Stone having such a big influence on previous generations. They aren't very relevant to modern music although they're not necessarily unimportant
>carti is now mucore
based
It’s still mostly good
Die Lit by Playboy Carti
You Won't Get What You Want by Daughters
Eversince by Bladee
who gives a shit, it's changing from one flavor of soi to another.
Igor is a dogshit album. Everything else is fine, even Bladee
this is just the old Yas Forumscore with a couple meme rap albums tacked on
where is HOOM
As a boomer, I think im growing totally disenchanted with music, so I dont really mind.
Nu-Yas Forumscore is shit like led zeppelin and bohemian rhapsody. The average user's taste on here took a sharp turn downward when 2016 election refugees made this board unusable.
how did you fuck this up
It was shit in 2008
Its shit in 2020
tfw the 4channel split should've happened in 2015
This is such bollocks.
Yas Forums as a scapegoat for all bad things happening on Yas Forums is utter crap.
I've been back and forth to this board since 2008, the taste hasn't gotten worse, all thats changed is the popular music of the time thats spammed.
Jazz, classical and bleeps were lucky to get past the 3 main artists for years and years. The board started with nothing but metal. IN 2008/9 when indie overwhelmed the charts then there was a war between the too. In 2012/13 hip hop became popular. Kp0p has always existed and so have waifu spammers. Nothing outside the usual has got past 10 threads.
The buzzwords have changed, P4k was replaced by Fantano.
Other than FotM shite, nothing has changed except a shift from indie rock to hip hop as the most popular/spammed genres. Liking obscure music flipped to liking popular music (for the same reasons).
People forget the 2010/12 period of tureshitposting hell that was C00ltop, NigFish, NigMan420 et al
hAHahaHAh as they say "all things must pass" aha
deaf and blind
Lol fuck death grips
F ZOOMERS
Don't care because Yas Forumscore was always mostly shit anyways
shut up Evan
based
Changing times never bothered me much. I still listen to plenty of new music but I have to be cautious about what I play around fellow boomers. On the rare occasion that I'm playing music around my co-workers for instance, I keep it boomer friendly. Most modern Yas Forumscore would get you laughed at and/or judged pretty harshly.
>not knowing the universally acclaimed 2018 AOTY
yikes
>fantano drones like shit music
yikes
Everything in this chart except Crimson King is garbage
>muh instrument wank
soundtracks for the blind is the only decent one there
I see a lot of dull colors, then red, was this intentional?
led zeppelin IV is better than any album on that chart
amendment to my post: a love supreme is probably better
literally half of these is golden
when I got here Yas Forums core was just a 2x5 grid so the main thing that changed is that room was made for more recent stuff. I'm glad "we" got rid of ok computer which made radiohead over represented, and that post rock stuff was replaced with classic records, and also that jazz made it in
I don't really like the new hip hop pics because I find them pretty lacking in production and overall quite boring when not annoying, but I guess that's just me getting old and not getting new stuff
I'm mostly annoyed that the money store is heralded as the definitive death grips record when exmilitary is clearly the superior pick
I get that that's the case by virtue of fantano giving it his first 10 or whatever, but it makes for a less solid grid
I'm at least glad that to pimp a butterfly fell out of fashion because that got so much unwarranted overhype that it became really annoying really soon. comparatively die lit is a much more interesting record
don't care because no one is actually going to use the new chart. all of the additions are popular albums that everyone has already heard
so basically you just added the pitchfork approved normie albums from the last ten years? ok...whatever
I don't think the "election refugees" changed anything on this board specifically. imo if it even went downhll it was at least a few years before
the tourist influx didn't necessarily reshaped the board taste but made discussions exponentially worse
the shift in taste is mostly due to the change of the zeitgeist out of here. indie rock has become boring and irrelevant as a cultural phenomenon while lo-fi hip hop has been (undeservedly so) heralded as the new frontier of music when it comes to innovation and artistry
more recent albums on this chart
>2 white albums
>2 black albums
>1 pink album
what did she mean by this?
The daughters album is literally only Yas Forumscore because fantano gave it a ten
Embarrassing
>thinking there's actual Yas Forumscore
ok
Whatever
Would’ve done literally nothing
bladee sucks balls
so you took one of these "classic meaningless Yas Forumscore charts" and added crappy zoomer hip hop albums? good job op
reflects how shitty zoomer taste and musicians are. not surprising, zoomers have no talent whatsoever
this
i think you mean ecco2k
Exmilitary is not representative of their trajectory over-all. The Money Store not only a consummate album but fully formed the style of lyricism and production which would characterize their later albums. In my experience, those who over-rate Exmilitary because they under-rate their later stuff and prefer more traditional hip-hop.
Can we make a chart based on albums that get mentioned the most rather than some random guys opinion
Do so because*
this, that's what Yas Forumscore is supposed to be, not some idealized "patrician" starter pack
>Court
>wank
>hello fellow music listeners, have you heard of my clie- I mean this completely new and experimental hip hop album? EVERYONE is talking about it. What's that? Yas Forums-core? Why, we're honored. Now, look at these other top 40 greatest hits
Blonde and Bladee aren't really discussed that often, not to mention that Frank Ocean seems mostly hated here. Bjork, Interpol and Mingus are also doubtful.
Making something "Yas Forums-core" is a great way to make me want to avoid it at all costs.
