Practice? It's not instant gratification dum dum.

Play bass or sing.

PICK UP A TROMBONE, SISSY!

I get frustrated and seem to never make progress ;-;
My voice is pretty shit desu, bass might not be a bad idea though

I wasnt born with talent, theres no point

>sings good
>Gets invited into a Band
>Can only perform live while on cocaine
>To high to keep pitch

Just steal music from anons on here and then hire 5 producers to splice it all together on a DAW. That's what dubbi has been doing.

I've been playing for over a decade and I'm still terrible.

Then learn! Stop laying around doing nothing and just fiddle with tutorials plus coming up with your own stuff. I'm depressed half the time but still manage to make some shit off my guitar, bass, and DAW. Push yourselves ffs

Join me user. I'd rather be in a band with someone who has good taste and I get along with than someone who immensely talented. We can grow as musicians together :)

I used to draw pretty decently thinking I was gonna be a cartoonist. I ended up stopping and now all my boys who didnt really draw too much are tattoo artists. My friend why dabbled in music a lot, pretty much stopped and now I'm the music man. He's naturally more talented than me, but it's not about natural talent. Practice makes perfect.

>pretty good at music
>socially retarded and can't function in a band

No, dont be an utter schizophrenic faggot that shills in every thread by which Dubbi has been doing for literal years.

This. You don't have to be good to play trombone.

t. I know someone who plays trombone in a ska band and we both agree that he's shit at playing the trombone.

can someone explain the dubbi meme to me?

You and me both. Just start making electronic music

He posts his stupid fucking album cover on random threads that arent related to shill music. I have listened to some of his stuff, it's kind of creepy and absurd.

Pros of playing bass: Bass is easy as shit to play
Cons of playing bass: Every bass player is a faggot (including myself)

Is there anybody here who unironically likes and listens to DJ Dubbi?

A few I've seen, but most people just dont give a rat's ass.

Bass is BASSED. You can get funky with it compared to a guitar which is a different game.

Just pretend to be retarded. People will "like" your music out of pity.

bass is de facto the instrument to learn to initiate yourself into music and playing with others. it will show you the 'bass'ics of music. in a typical rock band it forges a bond between the rhythms of the drums and the tonality of the guitar and it is so low sometimes that people have a hard time hearing if it is off and therefore blaming you. your band will know and will wast no time making you the whipping post if you continue to suck and be no fun.

What DAW do you use?

I actually liked dubbi's Volume 8 album desu, knowing he's super schizophrenic kind of makes it fun to listen to.

never stopped rappers, they always put out shit.

I use Cakewalk by Bandlab on PC and use Bandpass on Mobile. They're both free with a whole bunch of features.

same :(
ewww no dont be a faggot

Bad at composition or playing?

Then get good.

just be in a band with people that like you and want you around

lol how is cakewalk these days?

I am busting with creativity but I have fat retarded fingers and can only play power chords

keep playing and you'll be surprised what you can do. lots of fat fucks were also very nimble on guitar

This. The greatest guitarist of all time, Andres Segovia, has massive sausage fingers

just be a backing vocalist that screams some lyrics every now and then

I want to be in a band but I get stage fright

I try to find some great loops and manipulate the sounds often

Come again?

how is the software i mean? funtional but low budget iirc

>tfw bass player and de facto leader of my band because I'm also the only one that can write a hook to save his life

Well, it works smoothly. Nonetheless, good for beginners and intermediates by its templates.

does OP know anybody that plays music and also wants to be ina band? these days thats more than half the battle

I want to be in the band and I have the skill, knowledge, and tact to do it but no one around me wants to form a band.
its all boomers or autist metalheads.

Bass goes to the worst guitarist of the group. This is known.

I'm fucking retarded and misquoted. Clearly I'm a bass player

i know corona is meme but seeing live music get hit so badly isnt encouraging. lot of people get anxiety just attending shows pre covid and there could be much worse virus outbreaks in our lifetime. i think the future is live streaming

Went on a live show kick last year, got in as many as I could. Last I saw was GY!BE. So glad I did since it looks like it's gonna be a long while before bands start playing again.

What? Things will be normal by next year

That's still a decent while though. I feel like a lot of people are gonna be apprehensive going to shows for first few months of "normality" too.
Then again, people are partying in the streets still despite constant warnings about the virus.

bands are dead. they died with the rock era. jazz groups tend to be liquid and named after the most entrepreneurial member. we live now in electronic limbo here is your soundtrack

Bass? Nah, play punk and you can play any instrument you want. you don't even need to know how to sing!

No point in learning now. All shows are cancelled and venues will soon be going out of business.

Bitch, talent is a myth. Like, for real. I wasn't born into a Brian Wilson type family or anything, but I decided I wanted to get good at making music and through sheer willpower, I have. I just don't see what's the point in bringing yourself down when you haven't even tried properly. Making music isn't about "talent", it's a skill, and to get better at it you just have to keep doing it. There was some analogy I was going to use about shitty tap water being shitty and then having some clean water come out, but I honestly forgot how it went. I believe in you, user.

That's OK, most bands are bad at music, look at the fucking Beatles.

>talent is a myth

For the first time that I've ever said this, I -ACTUALLY- stopped reading there.

Is this a real post, or the best bait I've ever fallen for? There are 10 year olds who can shred complex compositions and you think talent doesn't exist?

post one song you've made, virgin.

Oh, you won't. Got it.

>but I am bad at music
look around, user. most music produced nowdays is bad. you'll fit right in.

you're obviously never gonna get better if you never give yourself a chance

That doesn't matter if your band is made up of cool people who you get along with. I learned to play drums from scratch while in my band. The recordings of our first jams are really bad but we had a lot of fun at the time. Now, I'm pretty good on drums and the band is pretty good.
We didn't sit around practicing until we were good at our instruments. We just went for it right from the start and had a good time.
