Why can't the vocals be better
How do we feel about Metal Church?
>Why can't the vocals be better
>include a "young" album
>it's already 11 years old
why is metal like this?
I like the vocals. They're almost death growls at times. Same reason I like the vocals on Bonded By Blood. I love shouty almost-screaming vocals.
Can anyone rec me some more bands like this: youtube.com
>insert gigachad.jpg
Thoughts on Winterfylleth?
This is REALLY close to a 10/10 for me. Opinions?
Listen to Gorerotted.
they're like municipal waste but if they actually wanted to make good stuff and not sit around jerking off
so yeah
they're good
Power Trip is one of the best modern thrash metal bands, yes, and anything with cover art by Paolo Girardi is guaranteed kino.
Would you consider Power Trip crossover?
imagine not wanting to make thrash while just jerking off
based
It's pretty damn good. One of the only legitimately tough modern thrash bands. I feel like I could beat up Municipal Waste or Toxic Holocaust, but I wouldn't want to be caught in an alley with Power Trip.
Just got the new issue of Bardo Methodology, here are some highlights of the Deathspell Omega interview (which is a print-exclusive BTW)
>DsO has a "tepid interest in public opinion" suggesting that if they ever do change vocalists it won't be because of outragefags
>The band has been considering touring physical art installations based on and in sync with their work (in lieu of live performances) since 2005
>The band attributes the metal media's backlash to a cultural change: Black Metal used to dissolve old cultural boundaries and distinctions through shared interests but now it seems the divides are being brought back
>DsO's founding goal was to explore the darkness "in and beyond humanity"
>The band posits that the early Black Metal of the 90's was a backlash to the optimism of the time (singling out Francis Fukuyama) goes on to say the genre is now a soundtrack to modernity's apocalyptic attitude
>DsO singles out an old VHS of a Kreator concert and Slayer's Reign in Blood as the only general metal influences, otherwise almost entirely influenced by aesthetics and attitudes of Black Metal
>Also cite Franz Kafka, Krzsztof Penderecki, Gunter Brus and Diamanda Galas as inspirations
>Specifically borrow from N.N. Taleb to call countercultural movements "anti-fragile"
also actually buy the damn zine if you get the chance, the art is absolutely gorgeous and there's a ton of really good interviews.

HHRRRROOOOOUUUÖÖÖÖÖEGH!
What a banging album
Into what genre would you put Inepsy?
It's damn good ngl
Sounds like crust punk mixed with Motörhead.
Heavy crust?
yes
Arch Enemy is unadulterated crap, let's be real.
>generic, forgettable riffs
>shit vocals
>songs blend together, can't tell any of them from one another
>unlikeable band members
This new Bütcher album is breddy gud, dudes
*this is your brain on modern thrash
No but what does it MEAN
I'd say it's metal punk but I always get called out on that here. Yeah it's pretty much a made up "genre" but I think it perfectly reflects the music.
>Egypt
>The Old Oak
>Shadows
>Is That You, Melissa
Not as good as their first two, but it's still pretty solid.
It's overproduced female-fronted modern melodeath, what did you expect
Based. They've introduced me to some great bands and they're always interesting interviews. There's no hidden agenda, just pure love for metal
If you're incapable of seeing Painkiller in the larger context of Judas Priest's riffing style then you're retarded and don't listen to enough metal. The album was an evolution of their sound, but it is still very much a Judas Priest album. What they did on that album and on their earlier work has been imitated repeatedly by many bands. Calling the songs on Painkiller generic is like claiming that Master of Puppets is just generic thrash riffs.
Any good Death Thrash bands/albums??? I dont like normal thrash too much, but with the ferocity of death metal it becomes good.
>unlikeable band members
Literally who cares about this. But yeah, they're shit I dunno why you're stating something everyone already knows
Demolition Hammer - Epidemic of Violence
Sadus - Swallowed in Black
Sepultura - Arise/Beneath the Remains
Num Skull - Ritually Abused
Possessed - Seven Churched
Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death
I guess I shouldn't have expected much. I saw them at an Amon Amarth concert and I was awestruck by how much their performance sucked.
any non tourist options?
The bitch front woman ruined a Babymetal-song with her shitty vocals
Tourists don't listen to death thrash, so all of them.
>listened to Possessed
>saw them live
they are boring
The one that asked for the death thrash albums here.
Honestly death thrash sounds so much better than normal thrash to me no idea why, maybe cause it sounds angrier, rawer, faster, fiercer
Wait, she did? Which one?
The album version of Distortion
It's nice to see /metal/ finally appreciating Sepultura again
It takes the best aspects of thrash and death and combines them. It's why Epidemic of Violence is still the best thrash album of all time.
Their current vocalist, or the blonde one?
Aless luzgluz or whatever she's called, she did the growls, which sound way worse than the original ones they used
>Why yes, I do consider Sepultura better than any of the Big 4. What made it so obvious?
Yeah, heard the self titled song its banging, but I have heard that before, but didnt pay too much attention then, will listen the full album.
Thanks for the list, will check it out. On first view I know/heard some of these albums and they are all great.
pic unreleated
Is this death doom?
2:25-3:10 still gives me goosebumps
Colony is a 10/10 and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise
Listen to their early material. It's very different.
This but without any sense of irony.

Nice try, Arch Enemy.
