Girls in smaller companies just don't make any money and pretty much just have debt in Korea, and 99% of groups and girls will never make it. So while fans enjoy it, it's pretty much a a dead end for the girls themselves. Even mid-tier popularity girls in Japanese groups make better money than most in kpop unless they're in the Big 3 or one of the few groups that manages to make it (e.g., Mamamoo). She's better off in Japan if she still wants to be some kind of entertainer.
