Is trap even music? I would say yes, but obviously inferior to almost every other style of music. It is so formulaic. Structurely, stylistically, the fucking synths used, the exact drum samples, the style of vocals.
It's barely music, more like a fucking template that gets endlessly shat out with the tinyest variations.

This is so typical of what is wrong with music at the moment.
Cracked software, increased computing power and accessibility means that many more people can produice music now. This isn't necessarilly a bad thing. I sure am glad I can produce music. I remember years ago saving up to buy the protools hardware as a teenager, whereas now people don't even need to buy anything, just run cracked software on any old laptop.

This means people who really aren't especially skilled, talented or interesting are producing music. The peak of their innovation is applying a fucking stock effect onto something already existing and BAM you have a whole new genre. Fuck off.

Trap itself is so unbelievably generic and asinine that any fusion, modification or development is merely going to be the same fucked up dull ass template.

No genre should be so specific that all it takes is a certain bpm, some stuttered hi hats and a fucking long release kick to make the genre.
