it'll keep flaking though refinishing is a bit of a big job.
i think the guitar would look better with a black pickguard too, while keeping the cream control and pups.

theres no need for the pedals. I'd much rather recommend a small roland cube that can actually be played and practised on without killing yourself and everyone in the house. totally decent overdrive in those, too
