Anyone know where I can buy a full tune III hardtail bridge for my Ibanez? The saddles on mine are all corroded.
Isaiah Gutierrez
corroded hardware looks cool, I wouldnt do anything unless negatively affects playing.
if its just surface corrosion you can polish it with water and a ball of aluminium foil and it will usually come right off. I do this on all my bike parts once a year

Advice for beginners
Get a used mexican SSH strat. Decent enough quality, 99% of people will find the body comfortable and you can find them cheap. It's also the best platform to learn guitar tinkering, everything swaps out stupid easy; all of the electronics are mounted to the pickguard, there's plenty of youtube videos on how to set them up, and god forbid you fuck the trussrod, you just order a cheap neck from Warmoth and screw it on.
Don't worry about pedals so much. Just get a used Boss ME50, and a RAT (because the ME50's distortion is dogshit). 200 bucks and you're set.
Amps; start with a solid state for lowest maintenance. Go for a 112 combo with 60-100 watts. that will generally be loud enough to jam with a drummer, and they're not too much of a bitch to lug around.
This is what I tell people. Thoughts?
Ryder Long
no toiletpaper edition
Brody Miller
that's advice for picking gear, not advice for beginners.
Jeremiah Bennett
two big bits of poly flaked off, so I made the sharp holes smooth with high-grit sandpaper. think it will stick, or keep flaking?
ever tried nitrocellulose spray-laquer? Its pretty cheap so I figured I might refinish this body
Lucas Hughes
whats a good string skipping exercise?
Isaiah Robinson
it'll keep flaking though refinishing is a bit of a big job.
i think the guitar would look better with a black pickguard too, while keeping the cream control and pups.
Aiden Martin
theres no need for the pedals. I'd much rather recommend a small roland cube that can actually be played and practised on without killing yourself and everyone in the house. totally decent overdrive in those, too
Jason Flores
I like that strat color tone, should I buy one and relic it ?
Dylan Moore
It had a black 3-ply originally. I think I could live with a 1-ply, but the 3-ply black on black is one of the most repulsive combos for me now
Isaiah Russell
What are some valuable resources for classical guitar?
Brody Kelly
Is it too old to start at 26?
t. youth completely wasted, no significant skills whatsoever.
Justin Perry
lol, no. some people learn really fast, too. I started two years ago and have played just about every single day since because I just love playing. if you love it you'll progress more in a couple of years than most casual players do in a lifetime
John Garcia
As long as you're not nigger Samuel, everything's alright, my man
Wyatt Evans
Well yeah. Should've specified. Gear for beginners.
Fair enough. I hear good things about those. Doesn't vox make a good cheap solid state combo
Isaac Peterson
I've been wiping my ass with D'Adarrio string packs. Do you think I can still redeem my points
Easton Rogers
Stupid shit company has been 80% failed products yet boomers kept it profitable.
David Green
Its also horrible advice. MIM fenders are brutally overpriced. Get a fucking squier and amp for $120 off the last asshole who quit on craigslist. When did MIM become $900 they were $300 and considered trash in the 90s. I guess you idiots will pay it so they charge it.
Kayden Nguyen
they probably do, theres a ton of good, cheap solid state stuff now. a buddy took the amp part out of a cube, wrapped it in gaffer and put it in a sort of backpack-sized recording rig
Luke Peterson
are they really that much? thats what a standard MIA strat went for like ten years ago
Andrew Johnson
I should have specified, used. I found one for like 300 bucks
Evan Perez
Yes MAN! Fucking Euro fags pay 1300 euros or some shit for them. It used to be MiM 300 MiJ 600 and american standard was 999 and a deluxe model 1200. They are greedy shitty corporation. Luckily in Canada you can still grab a MIA off a dumb boomer for 650-750 thats like 500 USD. Right and it a 1989-91 model correct? The new standard strat is made in mexico. Thats how sneaky these cunts got aaaaaaaand they dont even tell you where the shit is made online anymore.
Evan Evans
Dated "Ene 2000" under the pickguard
Christian Morris
its hardly even possible to ship anything wooden across borders these days, so its not so surprising that we get a shitty deal in europe. before that you could be sneaky and get a shop to import a guitar for you from the US right when the currencies fluctuated just right, and you'd get like a half price fender
Jackson Gonzalez
tortoiseshell would be nice on it
why hate 3ply black? I always associate white pickguard on a black strat with horrible beginner guitars because of my friend's 90s squier
Evan Fisher
what, should they just not try anything new?
Jordan Lee
MiM fenders are like 500€ in europe new (player series), something like the baja tele which was somewhat higher end from mexico was about 750-800€
MiA are 1000€ at the very least (performer/special) and std/professional are 1500€
used market is a fucking joke in europe though as even beat down MiM from 20 years ago are still being sold by boomers for 400€
Jason Jenkins
Been listening to motown/disco instrumentals for that funky right hand.
So fucking based.

Benjamin Robinson
boomers in the late 70s and early 80s didn't want old man jazz guitars - led zeppelin had broken up, Clapton switch to strats and everyone was playing super strats.
David Powell
I like tortoiseshell a lot, the good looking ones are just a bit expensive. That was my first choice, though, I'll pick one up eventually, if I dont come by a nicer mint green one first.
the one on it is a 2$ "mint green" one from ebay, but it looks more like cheap luminescent plastic to me.
3-ply black is kind of like the black shirt/white tie-combo to me. just the worst
Hudson Fisher
Every day some fag says Gibson is for boomers when Gibson golden age was when boomers were being born and boomers started making music using ivanez and other gay metal shit.
Gibson is pre boomer and post boomer. And literally far better than the competition for the price.
Colton Jones
>literally far better than the competition for the price
You must be joking
Isaiah Rodriguez
What's a guitar that can play rock and funk?
Luke Watson
stupid boomer, good luck sucking at life
Caleb Scott
If it wasn't for boomers rn gibson would be making djentsticks??!?
Elijah Ross
a strat is the obvious answer
Levi Martin
go sell blue jeans authentic consoomer
Jordan Cook
strat/tele are the most versatile guitars
Gabriel Gray
Look, it's not about time. You have your whole fucking life to play guitar. It's about patience and dedication. This is not a skill that you can learn overnight. Stop going on youtube and watching clickbait videos like "Boost your playing with this 7 minute exercise!" Or "Ways to tell if you're an intermediate guitarist!"
This generation is obsessed with instant results and the easiest path. Learning any instrument is literally the opposite of instantaneous. This is short-attention-span repellent. Buy a fucking guitar and buckle up. Stay away from gear discussion until the first year or so, and honestly even later.
Austin Carter
Whats the headstock serial number numb nuts?
Ya too bad you dont have boomer brands of your own to buy like Hofner or Burns, oh wait.... this still has nothing to do with them once being $300 and now being $900 in the USD.
They should definitely try something new but they chose to follow trends and use gimmicks like that robot guitar and fucked up firbird RD. How can they fail so many god damn times. Anyhow their greatest sin was buying out Ned Stienberger and shelving his actually innovative design that took 30 years for Keisel and friends to rip off. So in terms of technology they went so far as burying innovative brands by buying them out. This is where you reply "touche"
I dont know what to tell ya. They astroturfed the internet praising the squier classic vibe series and pumped them from 300 to 500 now. A fucking china guitar with a toothpick neck is $500.
Yes and they couldnt sell their guitars for $700 so they raised them to $1500 and they started selling again. Its in business books. Who were buying them? Thats right boomers. Also boomers were not in their 20's during the late 70 and early 80 so what the fuck are you talking about? Also Gibson have many failed super strat shit boxes they tried to release during that time.
No they would be out of business actually.
Jackson Jenkins
>being afraid to go full fake relic
lol now your guitar just looks stupid
Nathan Edwards
Interest in Les Pauls came back because of Slash, who's early Gen-X.
Jackson Ward
Im a music teacher, now what in the fuck is the gibberish supposed to mean? Let me guess you dont know your arpeggios right? A scale fag?
Hudson Taylor
Some user once said that MX serials facing are trash. Fender kept with that format until the late aughts, I think.
Daniel Phillips
Slash brought back interest in Les Pauls and he's gen-x so the fans would be even younger. Boomer fans of the blues bands would buy them but not enough to get Gibson out of troubles in the late 70s/early 80s. All the boomers were buying superior MIJ at the time anyway, and Gibson only got their act together later.
James Martinez
But he was playing a copy les paul like everyone else of the era
Jeremiah Jackson
Stratocaster.
Evan Hall
yeah, Gibson was too busy 'innovating' to try and get boomers to buy their guitars again so he had to get a luthier built one.
Daniel Reyes
I don't know the serial, because believe it or not, I don't sit around all day memorizing the fucking serial numbers to my fucking guitars, moron.
Ryan Peterson
those MIM are the ones with the bar magnet single coils right?
Cameron Evans
what community do people recommend online to be around for a beginner? I have lots of questions.

Camden Taylor
Yes to throw off the goyem. As I said earlier, they are being deceptive with disclosing details about their products. Anyways if it makes you feel better your guitar isn't trash if its made post 91, which it looks like it is.
Yes slash got the Gen-Xers into to LP thats right. Boomers were never buying MIJ superior instruments thats bogus. Boomers are brand conscious and xenophobic. Poor fags of all ages contributed to the MIJ superirour stigma. Ive played vintage grecos, orville et all. They are equally shitty. Its a meme. Gibson also never got their act together. They produce shit guitars. Ive never played a good gibson that cost under $3000 post 1980.
you memorized this you cum guzzler Dated "Ene 2000" under the pickguard because youre too fucking dumb to look up a serial number and know when your shitbox was made.
John Rogers
>No they would be out of business actually.
As would basically every other guitar manufacturer. Boomer music is what put guitars on the map and styles since are either a reaction or evolution of it.
Owen Lewis
>tfw you look at your new travel guitar
*cough* corona *cough*
Austin Richardson
Yes, plus It's always possible the neck was changed you wetback nigger
Jayden Gutierrez
No, it'd the older generation that was xenophobic because they fought them in WW2. Boomers were the hippies and later the punks, and the rock guys were throwing super distortions into Les Pauls at this time.
Christian Gomez
Who rips apart their pickups to fuck with the magnets and accidentally uncoil the winds? It's like you're calling me an idiot.
Cameron Thompson
>proud owner of 50 Chinese shit planks with ‘tone differences’

>all guitars sound the same

Best delay pedals for an old school psych type sound? Thinking of Electro Harmonix Canyon Delay atm but open to suggestions
Connor Morris
Just get a double boiler to remove the wax. This is what separates the men from the boys tonally.
Bentley Clark
for 300 bucks i guarantee some mouth breeder fucked the shit out of that guitar before you got it. So anyways retard you just admitted you most likely have a knock off frakenstrat. Congrats you played yourself. That shit isnt worth the sum of its parts. Youre still a cum guzzler by the way.
Ok whatever man. My boomer dad never played no MIJ junk and niether did his boomer friends and bandmates. 16 year old bought the cheap MIJ just like current day. Like I said POOR PEOPLE not boomers made the MIJ meme, and they were most likely Gen Xers.
Luis Brooks

I found a new forum for guitar. Mostly everyone is playing custom shop and high end gear and brands. They all say Gibson USA is really good and stands up to their custom shop collection stuff.
Yet you come here with Sam and other poors and they tell you to buy a Boss Katana and a chink plank bat soup Corona-caster and it sounds better than Gibson.
I want you poor faggots to know how pathetic you are. Sam is the intellectual titan of this thread, let THAT sink in, becuase hes a fucking consumer poor fag retard that will never own more than a duct taped Chinese pickup telecaster in his whole life. And he has a worm like disgusting body. I mean he DISGUSTS me. Everything about him from his ratty cat piss favela home, his Immature dreams, his brain dead narcissistic philosophy, his completely stupid use of money, and his horrible malnourished disgusting body.
I mean here you can hear some rant about Gibson he wants so bad but can’t afford. Last months I’ve been discussing the industry with LITERALLY Sterling ball in PMs.
Fuck you guys.
Carson Thompson
but its not reliced to any degree, and its only damaged on the bottom where no one will ever see, anyway.
