I don't understand why this record got so many AnCo comparisons. If you listen it doesn't actually sound all that similar.

That or Vangelis' Albedo 0.39, maybe Spiral
But user, Long Season has its own cult following on Yas Forums.

blessed album

Used to be talked about pretty frequently, but not so much anymore.

Based as fuck
Yeah but because Yas Forumsfags are drones that just listen to what they see on charts, they never go deeper than long season or sometimes otokotachi no wakare. I never see people talking about uchu Nippon setagaya, Kuchu camp or orange

Fucking based.

Literally an MPP rip-off. Braids are decent , but far from interesting imo.

>

>Literally an MPP rip-off
It literally isn't. The singer just sounds like a female Avey Tare, which can't be helped.

Seriously wtf Yas Forumstants

Attached: R-3536289-1454991937-2351.jpeg (1).jpg (600x600, 121.91K)

>she sounds like female Avery Tare

Except not at all? That braids album sounds like it used the same exact equipment, and production tactics as MPP. It’s an MPP worship album, and that’s okay user

astounding that so many people dismiss Nujabes as lo-fi schlock and miss out on this fucking masterpiece

Attached: Luv(sic) Hexalogy.jpg (500x439, 75.08K)

I shill this shit constantly but I've only seen it mentioned once by someone else

Attached: misha mishajashvili - 2018.jpg (1200x1200, 285.91K)

I still listen to it once a week. One of the best flavor-of-the-month albums ever.

it legit doesn't sound anything like MPP except for the wet/forest sounds during the beginning of Lemonade.
you are part of the reason they went synthpop, user.

Attached: poly.jpg (1200x1200, 434.75K)

literally the only good indie pop album.

Attached: tokyo police club champ.jpg (1000x1000, 228.84K)

damn i forgot about braids, shit takes me back

literally Tokyo Police Club's only good album too

picking favorites is difficult, but based purely on what i've listened to the most in the last 10 years, probably this

Attached: akron family.jpg (1195x1200, 697.44K)

pretty based and definitely underrated
absolutely based
one of the most fun albums out there

Radio Dept is extremely underrated

Attached: clinging to a scheme.jpg (1476x1476, 1.14M)

>the only good indie pop album
>album barely qualifies as good

Attached: uhhhhdog.jpg (313x286, 71.47K)

this record blew my dumb 13-year-old mind and got me into music beyond whatever happened to be playing on the radio in the first place. changed my whole world. it's kind of nice to see that braids still has never released a 'bad' album but also disappointing to see they never topped native speaker

This album oozes sex appeal

Gizz are popular around here
But not that album. I thought it was pretty good, but they didn't nail space rock as well as I'd hoped going in.

you're right, it's god-tier. good was a bit of an understatement

Attached: why - alopecia.jpg (1024x1024, 181.51K)

Not totally unknown but still super under-appreciated bit of Folk-Flavored Prog. All their albums are good but H&H is their best

nah bud, tokyo police club sucks

true, but Champ is the exception

i almost bought this at a record store yesterday but was already over budget and decided to hold off til next time

I feel like we talked about Sea When Absent and Planning Weed Like It's Acid enough but this one never got the love it deserves.
Their synthpop stuff is better imo, nice and icy instrumentals contrasted with Ra's bright warm vocals, where Native Speaker is just female fronted and more pop friendly mid/late 2000s AnCo.
I don't get how someone can't hear bits of Feels and MPP in it. It's not entirely derivative but the influence is crystal clear.
This is in no way better than Earth 2 or Extra-Capsular Extraction.
I play Paper Trails a bit still, not much outside of that though.

It's a shame they went downhill after CTAS but their new single gives me hope for their next album

youtube.com/watch?v=Mpg5C__qnQ8

it's not that I don't hear AnCo influences, but it's just certainly not entirely derivative of AnCo as some others were pointing out.

I guess one could hear Feels but not MPP. Not hearing any MPP in there.
