The only DG song that sounds close to a gecs song is Punk Weight but only for the 1st minute. Same reputation and fanbase but tbqh gecs sounds a lot more like Skrillex.

These, plus Death Grips (Yas Forums does compare them to everyone a lot, but 100 gecs really are influenced by them and big fans of them), OPN (interludes are pretty OPN-y, and Laura was said she's listened to GoD every week of the past year), maybe Crystal Castles, and lots of mainstream and non-mainstream pop music. Skrillex influences some of the sound design but not much else I think.

Mental illness has always been a subjective classification. Is asperger's a mental illness if you're a multimillionaire CEO? Is being gay a mental illness if you're super happy with your life?

Mental illness is just any mental condition or trait that negatively affects your happiness or functioning. Gender dysphoria counts there, but probably so do lots of other things most people here suffer from.

Fact is, trans are NOT happy with their life. Suicide attempt rate is insanely high. So does their gender dysphoria negatively impact their lives? It sure does. So why do we not classify it as a mental illness then?
