I put some 9-42s on my tele in half a step down just lately and there's definitely something to be said for the spaghetti feel of thin strings.
If you have a light touch though that helps of course.

vintage reissue gibson strings for my les paul, d'addarios for the esp, and recently trying out "hendrix" fender strings for the strat. all 9's all pure nickel though i should probably switch them up since i've got 3 guitars
