Who else making music this morning?
im browsing facebook sales pages for cheap gear
me every day
I wish i was autistic enough to mod one of those yamaha keyboards. uses the same IC as the CS series synths and you can buy them for under $50
Cant wait for this to come out in australia, i was going to buy a small midi controller but this has so many useful composition tools and looks fun to jam on. the sounds are good too
anything good?
i wish i didn't have a gf sucking and fucking my balls dry so i could have back the same ammount of anger, loneliness and overall more motivation to crank out techno tracks at 2 o'clock in the night like i used to do 10 years ago.
not really, just casio light up keyboard and a couple of old organs that are huge.
not me, pal. i wake up at 4:20 in the morning. got ready for work. drove 50 minutes to my construction site. worked for 6 hours in pouring rain. went back home. went shopping, turned on the washing mashine. now it's 16: something here in germany and i'm tired af. waiting for gf to come home, so i can smash her ass from behind while pulling her hair. maybe later, after two cans of monster energy, i'll make a track.
novation summit is the best affordable polyphonic synth on the market
oh
putting all this in a niftycase, mostly to compliment my other semimodulars and have 1 standalone voice. How bad did I fuck up
trackers - they allow a user to program patterns more intricately than a traditional step sequencer. but am I relegated to a daw and samples if my patterns get too complex? or would I need a synth with many voices, utilizing only a few while keeping the others on reserve for those complex moments?
if its only got one synth voice then Yams is probably more than you need, get a smaller midi/cv interface and add a tip top audio ONE, some pico, or some 2hp.
i feel u
the idea for Yarns is to use my Juno 2 or whatever controller to play my semimodular synths polyphonically (arp + sequencer is also a huge plus)
>wasting all that space on a meme reverb instead of more utilities
For me, it’s BugBrand
oh gotcha
what about meme utilities
maths is a great add. if you've got semi modulars already, maybe just lose the synth voice from this box entirely. Its already very much acting as a control/modulation box for the other gear, the synth voice is just getting in the way.
You could add a few LS1 light strip modules, some mults with switches + small sequencer, make noise pressure points, or Music Thing Modular Turning machine
I just want a sub phatty so bad, bros.
I'm getting a £500 bonus at work, what should I spend it on chums?
Fabfilter plugin
I kinda want a 0coast. is it worth it?
I've been weighing up an 0 Coast, Microvolt and Voltage Lab so I'd be also be interested in anyone else's opinions if they have direct experience with these boxes.
Thoughts on this?
I heard its the same engine as bass station II
I mainly used my FB-01 for pads, marimba and bass but it has died. i have a DX27 in storage but should i try to get a cheap PSR-36 to replace the FB?
keen on PiSS
Minilogue
I already have a Prophet '08
Fair point. Is their any particular sound you want for £500? Maybe a DFAM or something.
Hey guys, completely new to synths and got a korg volca FM secondhand, been having a great time with it even though the ribbon keyboard is ass. I have no real formal training aside from some piano lessons when I was a kid, does anyone have any beginner resources for someone trying to learn music theory or FM synthesis?
I believe /prod/ has music theory resources and sound design beyond FM synthesis. Also if you dislike the keyboard on the Volcas you could use a MIDI device with a full keyboard on it. I got an Alesis V125 personally.
a DFAM could be neat. I'm really in to ambient stuff like Labradford and I love the sparse, occasionally glitchy and abstract percussion they use.
>sparse, occasionally glitchy and abstract percussion
Maybe a Folktek Mescaline then? It's abit more than £500 but what you get is a glitchy drone machine.

Holy shit, really digging this thing, thanks. Looks like they may be hard to get hold of here in the UK though.
Yeah, I believe Folktek is US based. I think some US stores like Perfect Circuit ship to the UK but i'm not sure if they take pounds or if it's dollar only.
Ok, which band or youtuber is responsible for yamaha PS30 costing so much now?
What kind of synth should i get if im inspired by Boards of Canada? Recc me something Yas Forumstants
microkorg
Yes it's the same engine.
Yes it's great.
Yes you should pick one up while they are discounted
microkorg or mininova
those are great (and affordable) analog modelling synths that will take you where u wanna go bro
MY BODY IS READY
>mfw when he rambles on about hard synths being superior
What’s everyone playing tonight?
they are dank
clyp.it
>mfw when he "performs" on stage with a laptop
>mfw he soberly focuses on the man behind the curtain instead of living in the moment and getting lost in the sound, with the help of drugs of course
>>mfw i want to continue the argument but maybe i don't because that last part was written so eloquently. cheers user
I'm going to a synth jam tomorrow.
What synth would be best to bring? I haven't been to one before, so I'm not sure what to expect
>A4
>Digitone
>OP-1
>ZOIA
I'm leaning towards the Digitone
>pic unrelated
Let’s see your new gear /synth/
Metasonix RK7 for me.
Don't have any pics but i recently bought a Roland XP30, Yamaha PSS100, SQ1, and a Akai MPK mini play
nice, I need to mod my SQ1 over to banana jacks soon.
Synthesizers rock my sox
No first hand with any of those, but I’d add the Kilpatrick Phenol to your list of considerations.
First couple youtube demos google brought up.

Is the monotron CV mod just soldering a couple of wires or is it more involved?
Would be neat to sequence it.
pretty nice
