ORANGE MAN FUNNEH

When did she say to pay more taxes? The government where I live subsidizes the oil industry so paying less taxes would make more sense.

Here's where the rubber meets the road. I need you to specifically define the use of "subsidy" in this out of context chart. And, it is out of context. It does not define their terms, how the data was collected, anything. But let's start with "subsidy".

Attached: Goblin.png (536x536, 187.62K)

in this context, it is mainly property tax abatement

A reduction in taxes is not a subsidy. A subsidy is a grant of money, not reducing what someone owes. A farm subsidy for instance, is the direct payment of money to a farmer, generally under circumstances when the market would not tolerate an excess of a certain crop.

A property tax abatement is generally an incentive to a company to open business in a location that will provide jobs...which in turn will create a net increase in collected taxes via income taxes, payroll taxes, capital gains taxes, etc.

>A reduction in taxes is not a subsidy.
It's called a tax subsidy. Are you really this retarded, or just trolling?

Didn't you know government help is a fantastic thing to do for large, immensely profitable corporations. But it's dirty socialism in any other context.

We have to look at why someone would give such an incentive. Let's take a look at Amazon for instance. Locally, they opened a distribution center. There was competition for who would get this center. Mostly because it would mean about 1500 jobs. The incentives were by the town. Most property taxes are at the local level. The agreement was in steps- no property taxes the first year of OPERATIONS (meaning they paid full taxes up until they were open for business), then ramping up to full property taxes in 5 years. So, they get a discount, but the net result was more taxes collected by the state and federal government.

But, I guess it's easier to say "subsidy".

so it is a subsidy, and does what all subsidies generally do? who would have ever guessed
