Star Wars isn't as good as you remember it being. 4-6 were iconic but aren't holding up well now that we actually see how much shit Lucas ripped off, 1-3 were total dog shit and everyone knew it at the time, and 7-9 are made the exact same way the MCU is, robotic and fucking meaningless.

Glad i'm not the only one who notices this. The reason why is because disney ruined it. The recent movies are filled with forced diversity, plot holes, shitty charachter development, and boredom. Also rey is literally the most overpowered mary sue charachter in the entire history of cinema. Just end the series please.

Probably would have been a better idea on Disney's part to make Star Wars movies simple with more modest budgets to set them apart from the big Marvel movies. I felt no reason to go see them.

I never watched super man movies for the same reason- invincible overpowered yet whiny "oh who am I, I must go find myself" heros are boring.

In all honesty, 6 is not all that great. It's a literal retread of 4 but with super merchendizable ewoks. I can see how people argue for the merits of 1-3 because George chose to tackle a lot of politically nuanced shit coupled with the religious cronyism of the Jedi order at the time, albeit very poorly. The prequels are awful, boring and unwatchable, but at least they have an identity. NuSW is so mired by market research and lame attempts to make a toy franchise into "art" that everything comes across as empty. Force awakens was a good retread of ANH all while establishing the new heroes that could then springboard into their own adventures. 8 was a fucking trainwreck and 9 was basically the abusive husband apologizing and saying he's gonna be different this time if you just take him back.

The. You add in Disney scrapping the EU because it had no value to the star wars brand, then cherry picking shit from the corpse of the EU they think they can merchandise. This series was always a commodity but even at its worst. It had a heart. The sequels are so void of anything resembling any sort of artistic vision it's amazing. Disney killed a 4billion sollar brand so efficiently its almost like it was on purpose.

why we live in a time where there are no (worthy) new IPs? everything is a remake or a late sequel of the 80s-90s It's decadence time, deal with it
