YouTube's recommendations algorithm is fucking terrible. I can watch one thirty second clip of Jimmy Fallon, and my entire feed is filled with funny Fallon videos. Meanwhile, I listened to a bunch of smaller bands for hours on end and when I go to recommended its tswift or the jonas brothers. The "algorithm" is absolutely influenced by people buying ads which is a shame because youtube would be an amazing opportunity to explore some really raw, specific data in vast quantities.
