are we being moved towards mass surveillance.
i wouldn't normally believe in such a thing but our freedoms being stripped from us from this 'pandemic' is worrying to me
Are we being moved towards mass surveillance
Cringe. No. Theres not a single logical reason why this would be of benefit to any possible ‘overlords’
except china who likes to spy its citizen
Lol being this retarded. Ever heard of CCTV in the UK? Dumb fuck.
I'm not really sure what worries you. Our cities could be 99.9% safe if we just did away with privacy. Have a more open, honest, candid society. None of this sneaking around in the shadows business. Just mull it over a bit and you'll see it's not that bad
>are we being moved towards mass surveillance.
Of fucking course. The 2020s will be the decade where smartphones and the past 13+ years of harvested userdata will finally be directly used against us instead of sitting around on a server somewhere. We finally have the technology for incredibly sophisticated neural networks, and it's well documented enough to where anyone with a solid education in undergraduate college mathematics can implement. Deepfakes are getting better every day. Trust nothing, trust noone. If you want to see change we need a revolution. A cyber revolution. We must use this technology against our fucking leaders. Make them feel the pain.
but can certain nation depending on their ideology were very keen on investing on that?
better more tell me one logical reason this wouldn't be a useful asset to these ''overlord''
i'm sure it would benefit the immensely having eyes on us 24/7
if they use it on something like criminal investigation, not suppressing free speech
The police are not obligated to protect you.
>if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear
Let's say you believe X is good but then your country decides that X is bad. It's a completely harmless hobby to you and it's not causing trouble to those around you. Hell it might be even good for you. But now the state is aware that you haven't let go of X and they can follow you around to collect data about you that'd end up being used against you in court for doing X while a few old retards in a council thought it was bad because it was something new to them.
Do you see my point?
Better solution would be to just have a better and more efficient police force and soft drugs should be legalized and regulated. Whatever you do in privacy of your home shouldn't be anyone's business.
I might be taking it to extreme but lets say you fall in love with a Chinese girl. But suddenly the state decides that ALL chinks are bad and decide to massacre them. Now you and your ching chong has nowhere to hide.
Power corrupts people and most people can't fucking handle power. They power trip like fuck. Specially weak men and women. And guess who gets into politics the most? It's not the good guys in your class that are interested in politics. They are minding their own business. It's usually the slightly smart yet manipulative faggots that decide to get into politics and positions of power so they can punish the world for their own insecurities.
who is they, the government or the people?, because the only people that would have access to such a thing would be the government, so how could that possibly to suppress free speech .
and if used in criminal investigation i doubt it would be used to incriminate anybody they dont want incriminated.
If they ever let dumb fucks like you into positions of power, I'm done. I'm fucking done. I'm pulling the trigger.
I've worked with security and collaborated with police. I've gotten to work as an undercover investigator for corporations and let me just be very clear, the government and specially the corporations don't care about you. They only tend to care for people that are actively paying their fees and/or are your brainless insta consoomers. Because that's what gonna pay for their employees.
You can move to an island and point a camera at yourself 24/7, I just don't want that to me.
Not doing anything illegal but I don't want a corporate eye on me. Specially of someone with their own interest in their mind.
Bad news for you buddy...
>are we being moved towards a point we hit 20 years ago
I see what you are saying and agree in principle.
Unfortunately, really aggressive contact tracing and quarantines are the only way to genuinely squash the bug. In exactly the way they have done it in Taiwan, South Korea, Israel etc.
I have just seen so many people get sick now (central London) that I cannot see any other way.
Maybe you shouldn't have had such a shitty response to the virus then. If you guys had acted properly like every other first world country, you wouldn't need to monitor people who are sick and spreading the virus. You can't have it both ways.
>are we being moved towards mass surveillance.
Wow, I hear tales of one day there being these websites that you voluntarily put all your personal information on just to interact with family and strangers. I`ve hear giant corporations would possibly be able to track all your browsing habits, and buy all your data that you never explicitly agreed to give out and built profiles of you to dir4ect products and services tailored to make YOU buy them.
One might also think a State could built a vast network of networked cameras to spy on its people, and issue a, a... social...social currency of some sort to determine your ability to get goods and services based on how good a boy you are.
And possibly once these things called `cellular phones`come into vogue a State or bad actor might figure out a way with, cell tower triangulation, or that Gee Pee Ess, or bloo-tooooth to do the same as web stacking only on you physical location.
Heck those huge corporations might even sell or sell each others data about you to other corporations or States.
But We the People will OBVIOUSLY never let that happen
You sound like my friend...you british my guy?
>who is they, the government or the people?, Because the only people that would have access to such a thing would be the government, so how could that possibly to suppress free speech .
Every single big tech company is directly subsidized by the federal government in a monumental way. It could be argued that corporations like Google were created by the government considering the huge CIA ties to it's founding. It's corporate fascism, the government gets corporations to abuse you on their behalf with artificial monopolies granted by dirty money that got pulled out of nowhere and is nothing more than paper backed by blood and oil and whatever bullshit the Fed says this month. I'm no leftist but I'm a fan of the old saying
"Unions and protests are the polite way to address grievances. When that fails, we're going to use the not so nice way of addressing them."
So long as the government remains benevolent and incorruptible, that sounds swell.
> Are we being moved toward mass surveillance.
Where the hell do you think we've been since 9/11
Hey dipshit we've been fucked since the Patriot act. Or since the kikes got our banks.
gov doesn't need to subsidize them they have legal powers to force them to give data
We're alredy there. You can enjoy your civil liberties as long as the population is of no real threat to the Elites. If there were to be major rioting and the possibilty of a revolution, they'd track and trace, arrest and disrupt in a way you can't even imagine.
Forget any kind of organizing with the help of digital tools. You'd have to go underground, and even then it would be hard with advanced CCTV and drone surveillance. Atleast in US, UK, China and most of Europe.
They're already talking about having "passports" for travelling and working because of Covid19. Once such a system is in place, and people are used to it, the infrastructure can be used to limit people's movements and rights. It can be tied to your legal status, and also to a "social credit" system.
Let's just hope we don't end up there. For it to work, people have to first accept it and cops/military have to find it reasonable for them to carry it out. As in all revolutions, it's important to get these branches to turn against the government. If you are a cop/military, it's time you started questioning these things. If you know someone who is: try persuading them before it's too late.
Stay safe, anons.
They don't need to but they still do to ensure their constant data source never goes under. Twitter's finances are so far in the toilet they refuse to publicly share the statistics but it doesn't mean Twitters going anywhere any time soon.
I see what you did there.
That picture is sad
no
Yes, we need to follow china example of mass surveillance to combat this pandemic.
I laughed
then cried
welcome to 20 years ago when we could have made a difference
When the (((vaccine))) for COVID-19 finally arrives, and we're all forced to take it or lose out on essential services, what will be the best way to remove the nanotechnology the vaccine contains, that will keep us tracked for easy contact and reliability? Do you think a standard defibrillator will work? Or will something more extreme be necessary?
>Yes, we need to follow china example
that means let them censor your free speech right?
original pic
Everything that could have been tried has already been tried, or is too late to be tried. Violence is the only solution.
My Parents are my Friends: the 2000s edition
This is extremely creepy, and it seems we are being set up as the enemy for the 'new never ending war on terror'.
Absolutely disgusting.
Why do threads that start with reasonable concerns always attract dipshits like
most of the mainstream internet platform have already censor free speech.
Yes, in NYS there is talk about tracking infected by their cell phones and contact tracing others that had contact.
It's so lonely without you, anons.
