Why are psychedelics so fucking scary? I've only ever had horrible experiences on mushrooms. I have fun with pot edibles, as long as I don't think too much, but the moment I stop and think, it all goes to hell. Mushrooms have never been fun. They've only been terrifying. Does anybody else think psychedelics have a really dark side that nobody ever discusses? Media always portrays them as sunshine and rainbows, but they're not.

nah they fun asl lol sucks to be you

eat some fucking morning glory seeds faggot

They for sure have that potential, OP but it more sounds like you took psychs while anxious like a dumbass. More often than not they're super fun

I don't like LSD anymore for the same reason... After you take your body's "limit" you lose control and you are taken for a 12 hour ride (unlike shroom's 6-8 hour). I PUNCHED through a glass window with my bare hands, was hopping fences and jumping into people's swimming pools.
Ended up arrested, tased 5-10x, tackled by several officers as a 120lb kid... Yes shit was scary. However I think the absolute most horrific trip was on DMT, which deserves a greentext
>using a meth pipe and torch to free base a pretty good amt of DMT
>lying down on bed, 5 seconds after exhale it is like I am going into a god damn nother dimension at light speed
>anxiety gets to 10/10, feel like I am going way too fast
>then all of a sudden everything goes blank
>i can't think, think of thinking, or even acknowledge that I am not able to think.
>closest thing to death I have experienced
>for about 30 minutes after taking the hit I was still going in/out of the trip
>an hour later I feel like I just had my soul ripped out of me, like I just saw something very traumatic or something...

After this trip, I was able to get a better grip on my addiction. But no way in hell would I be able to do it recreationally. Just imagine how powerful a trip is if you called it quits for 10+ years after just one. For real I don't think I'll be doing DMT for a while, even knowing how to extract it myself and w/ a couple Sonoran desert toads

dmt can be like spiritually awakening and also v enjoyable. if you're not in the right mental state or dont approach the drug w reverence and humility itll slap tf outta you. also, psychadelics arent for everyone, some people just cant vibe w them for various reasons

Like everyone else is saying, mental state going in is very important. Yogic meditation provides tools to make the tip amazing, also Wim Hoff breathing. And yoga poses feel amazing on psychedelics

Fear is the mind killer.

Psychedelics are a deeply personal experience. The issue isn't the mushrooms, it's you. Maybe try again and see what's bugging you so hard about it. Try and fix it when you get to that point.

My take is that you're afraid of your own thoughts. I used to get super paranoid on weed and psychedelic shit like mushrooms alike. Eventually I got sick of it and I decided to just full on accept it, to think through it and accept whatever thought I was having, inhale some rough thoughts as is when I'm not in drugs so it made more intense. It got a lot better for me after that and actually ended up calming me when I get high now, probably because I delt with thoughts that I would usually bottle up or brush aside if i wasn't high.

I feel you OP. Its also a lot to do with age. When your brain fully develops at 25 most people can't enjoy weed or other psychs the way they use to when they were younger. I still toke regularly but I certainly perceive my o anxious thoughts and thoughts in general a lot more nowadays. Certainly as others have suggested, headspace going in is a big factor as well.

Very true too. Some of the greatest utility I get from toking is the fact I can quickly identify what has truly been making anxious or thinking a certain way.

Age... it's about perception

How does one actually find out? I can’t even figure it out sober

To some extent but your brain physically and chemically changes at around this age. Basic physiology.

It becomes far more obvious because all of your feelings are amplified. So when you get high and lose control over your ability to regulate your thoughts it becomes much clearer what is troubling you, something you might of tried to push to the back of your mind when sober.

Psychedelics reflect your mental state user. Your nightmares aren't because of the drugs, the drugs bring them out. It's your job as a psychonaut to confront your demons.

I use LSD every other month or so and for the first five trips I kept sobbing uncontrollably because I kept getting stuck on my dogs mortality. I never think about this otherwise and I'm a lot more comfortable with it. I dont look at it as a clock running out, but as more time with my favorite creatures on Earth.

Confront your demons and kill them, user.

How does one not give a fuck? I want to try the ol marijuana again but did too much last time and had a panic attack. How does one learn not to give a fuck and just accept what is coming??

You're a pussy.

You're a net-negative to society.

I'd advise to just start on a really small amount and then just see how you feel and just keep working upwards depending on how you feel. Something fun to play or watch (fapping as well) will probably create a great experience so then it will change the way you perceive the drug and then mean you will have a greater time with more good experiences you have. But in terms of that realisation I'm not sure. If I am starting to think anxiously I personally tend to laugh at those thoughts in my own head and then I don't get derailed. But I think takes your brain associating the drug with a lot of good experiences.

Use a vaporizer like the Arizer Solo II or Volcano where you can set the temperature so you can get a specific feeling from use. My favorite is 392°F.. Sedating but im able to cook and function

Try being really relaxed with some good friends and take it together. It will be way more enjoyable

Anyone here got any machine elf stories?

I have bad experiences with shrooms too. LSD on the other hand, ive always had good trips with. Have tripped around 15 or so times on LSD

Just for a little context, there is a parasitic fungi that uses psilocybin to subdue it’s victims. A little food for thought

dont approach psychedelics with a party mindset. they're a tool that can teach you things. its a fun tool, but still a tool.
set and setting are the most important. I hate tripping in artificial spaces. nature is best, but if i have to be inside, i get rid of non natural colors and spend a lot of time fucking with lighting.
trip only with people you care about and ones who care about you. tripping with people you dont know or people you dont trust will suck every time.
if i trip at concerts its always in an outdoor setting. never tried indoor shows because i'm afraid i would have a bad time.
most of my exp is with mushrooms. for a usual trip, i start with 2g and have the other 1.5 to take an hour or so later if im feeling good.
other than that, relax and have fun

OP start small with mushrooms, 2 to start, an hour go 2 more and then 1 every 30 mins. They are my favorite

Because you’re a retard?

Because you haven’t watched planet earth or listened to Dark Side of the Moon while tripping.

i totally agree, i had a trip on salvia where I was transported to hell and tortured for what felt like years. seriously traumatic
