That's actually been found to be not only false, but the exact opposite. Under UBI people work more. With a UBI people are able to work harder to take risks, like aim for a higher position or go back to school for more training. People always want to advance more in life and a UBI gives them breathing room to do so.

Factories already allow us to produce more than we need to meet our needs. People will still work in factories under a UBI. You don't have a clue how economics works, do you? Give everyone more money and there is more money in circulation. With makers and sellers wanting some of that, prices go up. When prices go up, so does the poverty level, and we are back exactly where we were, only with bigger numbers.

In the 1950s people made a dollar an hour and a Coke cost a nickel. Today people make $10 an hour and a Coke costs over a dollar. So in real terms we're worse off.
