Hello there. I am conducting a little scientific survey about transgenderism, mostly for my own amusement.
Would you kindly answer the following questions in a reply to this post:
Do you consider people who self-identify as a gender other than what they were born as to be that gender? For example, if a man says he identifies as a woman, do you believe him to be a woman (in any form or context)?
Do you believe that, in order for the previous question to be true, the individual in question must make an effort into resembling their desired gender?
Do you believe that gender is immutable and dependent solely upon genetics, and that society's view on the matter is meaningless?
Hypothetically, if we were to have the scientific capability to alter an individuals genetics to give them the sex chromosomes they desired, would you consider that person to be of their desired gender? Would it matter if their outward appearance changed or not? Assume that outward appearance does change over time to match their new genetics.
If we were able to transplant an individuals brain into a body matching their desired gender, would you consider that individual to be the gender of their body, or of their brain?
Thank you for your answers to these questions. Please note that this thread is not intended to start a shitflinging fight on the subject, and the OP expresses no opinion, and is solely interested in the opinions of others.
As payment for your time, I present to you a record of an amusing Yas Forums ban.

>Yes
Do you believe that, in order for the previous question to be true, the individual in question must make an effort into resembling their desired gender?
>No
Do you believe that gender is immutable and dependent solely upon genetics, and that society's view on the matter is meaningless?
>No
Hypothetically, if we were to have the scientific capability to alter an individuals genetics to give them the sex chromosomes they desired, would you consider that person to be of their desired gender? Would it matter if their outward appearance changed or not? Assume that outward appearance does change over time to match their new genetics.
>Yes (but not for reasons inherent to question)
If we were able to transplant an individuals brain into a body matching their desired gender, would you consider that individual to be the gender of their body, or of their brain?
>Question improperly specified
I don't think you grok gender being a socially defined concept. Someone can be a gender that does not correspond to any existing form of sexual morphism.

>conducting a scientific survey Doesn’t understand the difference between gender and sex.
I’m literally seething so much I had to stop dilating.
1. No. 2. No. 3. Yes. 4. No. 5. No. Whatever your original body is, that is who you are. No modification will change it. If I transplant a dog's brain into a human body, would that be a human? No. It would be a dog in a human's body.

>Do you consider people who self-identify as a gender other than what they were born as to be that gender? For example, if a man says he identifies as a woman, do you believe him to be a woman (in any form or context)?
No.
Do you believe that, in order for the previous question to be true, the individual in question must make an effort into resembling their desired gender?
I dont think they are the gender they claim either way. But when they try to be a woman sincerely its a little bit convincing.
>Do you believe that gender is immutable and dependent solely upon genetics, and that society's view on the matter is meaningless?
No exactly. Gender is a representation of biological reality. That representation shifts and changes a little bit with different cultures around the world, but core principles still remain. No matter what tribe around the world, 99.9% of them are ruled by Men. Men always do more of the phyical labor. Men always are the ones who fight the wars as soldiers and women are not enlisted. No matter where in the world you go. That's not a coinsidence.
>Hypothetically, if we were to have the scientific capability to alter an individuals genetics to give them the sex chromosomes they desired, would you consider that person to be of their desired gender? Could a male undergoing this have babies? Idk it would still be an asterisk...They didn't grow up as a girl
>If we were able to transplant an individuals brain into a body matching their desired gender, would you consider that individual to be the gender of their body, or of their brain?
I dont know. These questions are a bit retarded. First off, they are an abomination against God. Seconds, lets play this rhetorical game with something else. Put my brain in a Black Man's body. Am I now a nigger? I don't think so.

>Do you consider people who self-identify as a gender other than what they were born as to be that gender? For example, if a man says he identifies as a woman, do you believe him to be a woman (in any form or context)? No, If I truely believe that I am a dog or a horse, I do not become a horse or dog.
>Do you believe that, in order for the previous question to be true, the individual in question must make an effort into resembling their desired gender? No. Dressing like a dolphin, does not make you a dolphin
>Do you believe that gender is immutable and dependent solely upon genetics, and that society's view on the matter is meaningless? Yes. belief and wishing does not make something true.
>Hypothetically, if we were to have the scientific capability to alter an individuals genetics to give them the sex chromosomes they desired, would you consider that person to be of their desired gender? Would it matter if their outward appearance changed or not? Assume that outward appearance does change over time to match their new genetics. If they genetically become female, then they are female. Visa versa. So yes
>If we were able to transplant an individuals brain into a body matching their desired gender, would you consider that individual to be the gender of their body, or of their brain? The body would be the gender. Because the body is an electro chemical machine. The hormones/(chemical part) would affect the brain and enhance the gender.

They are crazy people with a delusion. This isn’t a difficult concept

I think I'm a 8 armed hentai tentacle monster.
If "Science! tm" could put me into an 8 armed tentacle monster body, would I not then be my proper gender? Therefore gender is seperate from sex and you cant deny my awesome Logic!
What's your opinion on the matter? Why are you asking these questions?
Matthew Sullivan
My opinion on the matter must remain unknown, to maintain impartiality in responses. I seek to know others opinions, particularly when it comes to whether or not potential gene editing would make them consider a transgendered individual to be their desired gender.
I ask these questions for my own curiosity.
Bentley Wilson
Sounds like you are someone who is questioning their own gender
>I'm a psychiatrist. We arent all drinking the koolaid Really hope you are Pretty blackpilling to see how all this is moving. "But it's settled science! The psychiatric community has reached a consensus!" *disbar and defund anyone who has a differing opinion* "See? Consensus!"
Beware of any authority that tries to tell you what is and isnt 'normal'.
The American Psychiatric Association is taking a loss on this one because it looks really shitty when people picket our conventions
Jace Davis
Thats such bullshit. So people can warp reality itself if they just get 1000 retards to protest?
It's ironic that Psychiatrists are that fucking insane

This political trans agenda is awful But there's only one thing that I know, men at dresses will always give me some boners Ill or not, I don't give a shit, if can give the ass and suck my dick, I'm down
1. gender is too intertwined with "sex" to answer this question properly. i respect their "gender", the meaning of which is closer to "sexuality" nowadays. their "sex" is immutable & we all know it deep down.
2. nah --- IF we're properly drawing the distinction between "gender" & "sex". i respect their "gender", but i would never truly believe that they are now the opposite "sex". the word "gender" has been re-appropriated to mean "sexuality".
3. if the user of the word "gender" draws the distinction between "gender" & "sex" then no. if you're conflating "gender" with "sex", then yes. but be careful about your terminology there, because it changes everything.
4. if u can do it before they're born, ye. if it's after... eh.... the question is too unrealistic at this moment in time to make a determination
5. also a lil unrealistic, difficult to make determination. i assume their new body would change their brain chemistry, so i'd be closer to accepting that they're the "SEX" of the new body. i'm willing to accept that "GENDER" is a construct if we're using it to mean "SEXUALITY" now, so i'd accept their "GENDER" (sexuality) either way. but not their sex sex is immutable unless you're gonna change all the chromosomes like u say but that aint happenin anytime soon
Charles Sullivan
The only correct response.
It's a sexual fetish and a sexual appetite. That's ok to say. But it isn't "who I really am on the inside and affirming my true identity!"
People want that deep down so they can live out their sexual fantasies without shame. It's amazing the hoops people jump through to feel like they have control and to avoid shame.

This question must remain unknown to maintain impartiality. I am sorry. I can tell you that I have no personal stake in the question at hand.
It is an interest of mine, how popular societal opinions will often color perception to the point where a willful disregard for what was once considered to fact takes place, even to the point of changing definitions of words and substantiating events with falsified ones in order to reinforce a worldview, regardless of the support (or lack thereof) for that worldview.
Caleb Sanders
I would refer to them as thier desire whatever because it's the polite thing to do.
I would also not budge an inch on things like gender actually being different because scientifically it's just not true.

>Do you consider people who self-identify as a gender other than what they were born as to be that gender? For example, if a man says he identifies as a woman, do you believe him to be a woman (in any form or context)? no
>Do you believe that, in order for the previous question to be true, the individual in question must make an effort into resembling their desired gender? for the previous statement to be true, the individual should not just attempt to look like the desired gender, it should be the gender.
>Do you believe that gender is immutable and dependent solely upon genetics, and that society's view on the matter is meaningless? yes
>Hypothetically, if we were to have the scientific capability to alter an individuals genetics to give them the sex chromosomes they desired, would you consider that person to be of their desired gender? Would it matter if their outward appearance changed or not? Assume that outward appearance does change over time to match their new genetics. I would, but only if the alteration of the sexual chromosomes result in the alteration of the individual.
>If we were able to transplant an individuals brain into a body matching their desired gender, would you consider that individual to be the gender of their body, or of their brain? That's an excellent question. At first I would say yes, but after thinking a bit about it, the brain's chemistry would still be the one of the opposite gender. It would be interesting to have a huge set of individuals doing the brain change and monitor them in their everyday life for quite a time. If they perfectly adapt to their new body, then yes. If not, then no.

Interesting. I think I would agree with this. I study propaganda and propaganda tactics. You have an email or something? We could talk about this stuff some more
