have you ever lived in a double-wide trailer before? thoughts? experiences?

Its cheap living, problem is the neighbors tend to be druggies and thieves. Keep an eye on your mower.

well, my plan is to buy land somewhere and then have a double-wide plopped down onto it.

Ultimately, I want to have a separate doublewide for my children. My wife and I will live together in ours and then the kids will get their own shittier one that I don't care if they wreck (and if they're anything like my brother and I were as children, I'm sure they'll be destructive)

they're cheap
and they're cheap for a reason: build quality isn't great and in some the walls are so thin you can hear someone breathing in the next room.
in winter they can be cold (again depending on quality and how old they are) and depending on where you live you can be amongst the scum of the earth

i've lived in 3 in my time; first two were horrible, last one was a pretty good home.

They're not bulletproof, so if you are in an area where people like to shoot guns randomly, its likely you will take a slug to the head while you're asleep

I own one. It's surprisingly nice. I don't have a neighbor problem as ours is on land. It's definitely dated and panel walls are not great, but it's a home inside and that's what matters. Where the trailer is matters a lot more.

it is a cheap replacement for a real house. The insulation tends to be sub par and forget privacy as you can hear almost everything that goes on inside from one end to another. The fixtures and such like sinks and tubs are often very cheap.

It is an option but not a very good one. You are often far better off just finding an older home, basically a fixer upper and putting your time and effort into fixing it up.

>an older home
This. Older home on land >two trailers. The best thing is to be some where nice so inside is for you and the wife, outside is where you keep the kids. Single, no kids is also a way better option if you feel that way about them. Just a side note, they'll be old enough when a separate space is viable that functionally it doesn't matter, you won't ever have a second trailer. Also if you think you'll find anything but a fat white trash cow to live this dream with you, you're even more of a moron than already indicated.

this is the saddest thing I have ever read

is it?

this is a white trash thread

kek. you just don't understand the true spirit of the chan. we're nihilistic anarchists… with a twist.
we don't care if they were "innocent" (who is truly innocent, anyway?)

>making your kids live in a separate house than you so they can destroy it while you and your wife get drunk/high alone in the other house

why even have kids if you don't care enough to parent them?

lol, you make it out like I don't get a shit about them.

I'm giving them their own house. of course I'll be a great parent who will spend time with them. Giving them their own place solves the problem that double-wides have not isolating noise.

My uncle and his family still lives the same double wide he bought new in '88. He works for the oil companies and makes $200k/year easy (he also owns a lakeside vacation cabin in another state. His house is still really nice. He even remodeled the kitchen a while back. If you take care of them, they'll last.

I live in a double wide now myself. There are certain obvious things that were done to cut costs, but it's not much more than what they do in a normal brick and wood house. The cabinets are still shity particle board no matter where you go, all the door knobs are builders quality no matter where you go, so it's not that big of a deal. My house has new Hardie siding and a metal roof so it's pretty nice fire what it is.
Also consider that I got this 1,700sqft house in, great condition, on a full fenced-in acre with my own well and an unmolested view of the stars every night for 86k. I'm buying this house for cheaper than I was renting an apartment.

and give your kids abandonment issues

just because youve become a hardass finally at 35, doesnt mean your kid is

by this logic, even giving your kids their own bedroom is abandonment. They should sleep in the same bed as me!

Mortgages are always cheaper than renting dawg

They're nice and a cheaper way to put a home on land.
However I live in a rural area with a lot of nice houses and farms. Assholes are starting to subdivide little parcels and putting these darn things on them and it looks like shit while bringing down the area.

It's gay.

For gay people.

Faggot.

wanna be boyfriend and boyfriend with me? :)

Do autofellatio.

What are your concerns? Outside of caring what other people think there's no downside. If you care about that you're just stupid.
