are they just a meme or does anybody else listen to them unironically

I've never understood the appeal to this style of music. Songs should have some sort of melody or beat -- this is just random sounds and grunts. I had a sergeant in the military that listened to this literally all day, every day, swearing by it as though it wasn't nails-on-chalkboard quality of """music""".
well i don't listen to the quality of the music nor how it sounds but how it makes me feel and this shit makes me feel somehow i can't properly describe, I like it because it quite literally says "fuck you" right in your face and is unpredictable.
I know them on a surface level. I like they're listenable shit
I personally absolutely love them and think most of their stuff is genius. I hated them for years and years and one day my friend played Spread Eagle again and I fell in love. That being said, I totally get how people hate them
This, it gets me in a mood no other music does. I close my eyes and seize it.
The more I happen to hate myself the more I enjoy blasting my eardrums out with their music, especially their more experimental and angry stuff like hot head for example. It's like musical self harm or something.
I clench my fists and beat it, I light my torch and burn it.
it's not even that bad, most of it is tame by my standards, the only truly ear blasting song is Punk Weight
could probably make better music by rubbing my balls over a keyboard with fl studio open
What about System Blower? It's made to blow your system
try Jud Jud
lol
my system is too strong then, heck even Cut Throat is more rough than that
death grips are definitely a meme
the way your brain processes music is a weird adaptive feedback thing that needs to acclimate to styles which are significantly different from what you're used to listening to
so it's an acquired taste, but what's interesting is that process of acquirement affects your thinking in ways that can influence your sense of logic, or mental resilience/stimulus sensitivity
it's kinda like how people can feel less sad by listening to sad music
when your life is shitty and loud and abusive you can appreciate shitty garbage music better
another example is when i'm tripping the fuck out on psychadelics and things are getting too wavy, putting on a weird disorienting off-kilter album seems to sober me up by making my brain work a little harder
On a real note tho, do you think they're gonna make more music? Or is Year Of The Snitch the finale?
maybe one more album or two, from what i can see they're getting pretty tired of it, but Hill will definitely make more music
one of the more memorable shows I've ever been to. I had only listened to them a bit and went with friends that I had just met. MC ride was 45~ minutes late and the crowd was booing and getting crazy, then he comes, and stands there half naked, glistening with sweat. he just stood there for a few minutes, looking over the crowd, and this made everyone go even more crazy. I was in the middle back, not too keen in going up front, but I got taken by a wave of people, when I popped out I was right in the front, with MC ride standing over me.
dope show. I walked out completely drenched in other people's sweat. 8/10
Just out of curiosity, what makes you think they're getting tired of it? Cuz I kinda agree. In my opinion I don't think they're gonna drop anything else. The last track on YOTS was Disappointed. That's gotta mean something right?
What year/What venue? I saw them twice in SoCal and i'd rate the performance about the same
commodore ballroom in vancouver in 2015. the friends I went with ended up being some of my best friends now a days, death grips is a good meme in our group because of it.
huh actually it might have been 2012, that would make more sense.
shut the fuck up bitch
they nearly broke up before Year of The Snitch iirc, and one more time in the past i don't remember when. The track shouldn't mean anything really, when the entire band is so ridiculous it's kind hard for me take it seriously to that extent.
Hell yeah. Good venue? Whether you like them or not, Death Grips is a great meme
Pretty sure they first broke up before the whole JENNY DEATH WHEN thing. Which, if im not mistaken, was around the time they just stopped showing up to their shows. I haven't heard of them almost breaking up before Year Of The Snitch tho... And yeah you right, I just like making crackpot theories about them cuz their so crackpot haha What's your favorite track?
yeah i don't think that they did because i keep getting false memories and shieeettt, but i can't choose so i'd say.. Punk Weight, Up my Sleeves or Death Grips (the song)... what about you..?
Thats the worst acid money can buy.
If you unironically think this you can't very familiar with their discography.
i'm picky with music and the fuck do I care for it's what i like
but heres the thing.......you didnt.......they did, therefore they shepherd, you sheep..........(C) before you steal my shit
Death Grips the song????? Now I'm interested. Are you talking about Death Classic?? My fave is probably Spread Eagle, No Love or I've Seen Footage. Take this picture of my ex since youre the only person i've been able to have a decent conversation with on this board.
Aboriginals?
So what do you think their most eat blasting song is? Avid DG fan here
youtube.com
this is the one i mean and thanks for that lmao
Yas Forums is /s2/ at this point
and i have other songs i really like but i don't myself listening to them as much as the ones i mentioned.. like feels like a wheel
oh and death classic is a good one too but i like the feel of next grips more
FUCKING HATE THEM. AUSTRALIA FOR THE AUSTRIANS!
