True, I should've said "favorite" instead. Only band I know almost every lyric to every song, in my teen years I just liked the music and screaming but after I started reading along with the lyrics I fell absolutely in love.
Climactic Degradation is such a fucking banger, the solo is so good too, rape them rip them make them fucking bleed!
God damn I love Black Dahlia. Miasma is one of my favs as well. Fav album is probably Nocturnal though, Unhallowed and Miasma will always have a special place but Nocturnal feels like a whole new level of writing and composing.

So many years later and it still fuckin gives me goosebumps. Can't vouch for the entire album but entombment is a fucking banger, they all are but entombment is some other level.

same. i stopped listening to them regularly after ritual or so, they got a little too formulaic and generic for me after that. but their earlier albums will always be masterpieces to me.
favorite vocalist would be a hard thing to pin down but i'm big on super high shrieks. like so high pitched it sounds like paper being torn. the guy from cloacal kiss/sawtooth grin is a good example. and on the opposite end of the spectrum i like super low gutturals like you hear in early i declare war or disfiguring the goddess. not too big a fan of the mid-range yelling you hear more often in metalcore and the like. i love within the ruins from their creature/invade days for the amazing guitar work but the monotone vocals make it hard to binge-listen.

fuck yes. i know they get a lot of shit for being young scene kids playing TeH bR00tAlZ dEtHcOar but they seriously helped to define a genre. and once they dropped the core aspect they came into their own and dropped some pretty solid death metal albums even if it is a little commercial for the elitists.
