I have no real moral objections to eating a dog. Hell I'd eat human under the right circumstances (taken entirely consensually etc). If you eat meat, there shouldn't really be a line for you. If there is, you shouldn't eat meat.

That said, I wouldn't any animal that has been elevated to pet status or suffered a lot before dying. So I'd have no issue consuming a dog/cat that had been killed knocked out and then killed if it was reared for that purpose. But I wouldn't like to eat little Timmy's labrador.
