Just done an experiment, costing up what mine and the wife's meds would cost in a month. Wife has epilepsy and I'm bi-polar. If we where in America we would be paying $3800 a month. Fuck man how do you Americans survive?
Just done an experiment, costing up what mine and the wife's meds would cost in a month...
At least our millionaires are getting the tax breaks they deserve. MAGA2020.
So if you are functional enough to work at some normie job like home depot they actually pay for your health insurance. Then the health insurance pays for your prescriptions. If your healthcare needs don't allow you to work you are able to go on permanent disability and get paid to veg out at home while Medicare pays for your prescription costs. Make sense?
do you have children ?
Ahh so its not as bad as like the news makes out and shit
Yeah 2 but one is 20 and the other is 18
1. Eat shit
2. Die
Thanks, very pertinent to this thread.
>So if you are functional enough to work at some normie job like home depot they actually pay for your health insurance
IF you are full time they pay a portion of your health insurance premiums, very rarely all.
IF you are out of work for any reason, you're pretty much fucked.
I cant argue with that. I think you have just cured my wife's epilepsy.
have insurance
pay US$20-40 for three month supply
It's honestly never like the news makes it out to be. Not just about this user.
>Then the health insurance pays for your prescriptions
Insurance will pay a portion of the cost of your prescriptions IF it is on the insurance company list of approved medications. IF it is an expensive or new drug, you're pretty much fucked.
Insurance companies are there to create profit for shareholders and pay huge bucks to top executives, not to help you get well. Just remember that and be grateful.
>If your healthcare needs don't allow you to work you are able to go on permanent disability and get paid to veg out at home while Medicare pays for your prescription costs.
Incredibly hard to qualify for. Get ready for years of legal fights and hearings.
This
I work 40+ hours a week, but im labeled as 'part time' so they dont have to give me benefits.
I swear on your mothers lives, the following is a true story.
Lost my job late 2018. Filled out "Obamacare" form. It asked "estimate your income for 2019" - I had zero clue, so just said fuck it, I'll make at least a grand a month - so I entered $12,000
Next thing I know, I'm redirected to state Medicaid site - I'm trying to go back but web page won't let me. I'm worried that I fucked up and now will get no insurance or be arrested - I was paying $451 a month for insurance before this, no shit. I was happy with it tho - good doctors, etc. Had a surgery which would have been really expensive without insurance, etc.
A week later, a bunch of stuff arrives from the State - a "benefits" card which allowed me to get SNAP, Medicaid, you-name it.
No shit, I get the same doctors, hospital, etc, but now pay ZERO for insurance. I was paying $85 a month co-pay for a couple of prescriptions, but now it is $1 each.
I have NEVER been on welfare or Medicaid before this - but now I realize two things: 1) Liberals are lying fuckers when they say that "poor people can't get insurance" and 2) when the State considers you a genuine poorfag, they give you tons of free shit, no questions asked.
Part of me is going to be sad when I have to go back to work.
You wouldnt pay that, you would have insurance so your monthly would be much lower. And if you didn't have insurance for some reason you can use programs like good RX or other social programs that are to help people afford medicine that they need. I was between insurance providers once and all I had to do was tell them and they gave me my meds for free until I got a new job. People pretend like it's super hard or bad here but realistically it's just a different system. Not better or worse. Honestly I prefer it that way because the taxes only go to the people who need it and otherwise you have insurance that can help you. Not even trolling, if I didn't have insurance or those programs my meds would be around 2k, but the system works fine. I'm sure other countries systems have their benefits but I don't have any envy for it or pride about ours. It is what it is, and there are programs to help people who need it.
Not trying to argue with people, just trying to have a conversation.
How? Wtf?
That sounds like a you problem for not having who you work for classify you as full time. Also, if you're working that many hours as a part timer and they are recorded hours your employer is breaking the law by not having you classified as full time, which you can easily leverage against them. Basically it sounds like a circumstance you put yourself in.
What meds does she rake for epilepsy? I take oxcarbazepine and levetiracetam and pay $40 a month.
And truthfully it sounds like you're completely oblivious to the fact that companies have been moving to part time employees over full time for the last 20 years so they can avoid paying benefits. Or is this one of those "if you're poor just make more money lol" answers?
I don't know what its called over there but lamotragine 250mg a day and epilim 2000mg a day
Companies are doing every single thing they can, legal or not, to avoid health insurance costs. Maybe you're a teenager and didnt know that. Not a you problem or a me problem. It's an American problem. MAGA.
I'm not mentally disabled, that helps
Then don't accept it when they employ you part time. It's a you problem because you're not standing up for yourself. If a job is mistreating you you have rights as an employee and you have legal options. You also have the option to get a different job, or to create your own business. I'm 30 years old, I have been through a decent amount of jobs. If a job is saying you'll be part time but working full time hours, then you either put your foot down like an adult or you find a different job. Also, once again, you can leverage the law against them. Guess what? Most HR departments would rather give you what you want than deal with legal ramifications because they are there for the company, not for you, and they would rather not have to report to their superiors that some asshole is breaching company policy and it's getting them sued. I had a job try it with me, talked to a lawyer who talked to 2 people and got me a higher wage and the title. It's not hard. I'm not going to straw man you, but you're a human being with agency. You always have options.
They hired me as for 40 hours a week, but i dont have preset days off, i could have the weekend or tuesday and friday or any day of the week. Im in retail, only the department heads are full time (always have weekends off, benefits).
They could just fire me, or more likley, give my shifts to other people who need work, meaning i have to find other income. I dont jave the money to fight a legal battle, not if i want to keep paying for groceries and rent (heat is free if you never turn it on just use sweaters and blankets (protip :D))
>Then don't accept it when they employ you part time.
I see, it's the old "just don't be poor" argument. Best of luck to you but it sounds like you don't really give a shit about anyone else who can't find full time work, has a family to feed, and has no other options. Good for you I suppose.
>I don't give a shit about people who won't do things that are in their best intrest because it's apparently too hard
Fixed that for you.
Sorry it's too difficult for you to stand up for yourself to get what you need. You always have a choice, it's your choice whether you fight for what's best for you, or beg like a dog and take whatever scraps they give you while whining about how it isn't fair. If you don't stand up for yourself no one else will. Find a different job, stop taking scraps. Choice is yours.
If you have it recorded that you are working those hours, literally you have the proof that they are doing illegal activities, and all you have to do is bring that to HR and inform them you will be going to the authorities. That are many groups who will help you with this kind of thing for free provided they get some of the money for winning. And you will win, because it's illegal to have you work that many hours without full time benefits, and you have all the proof needed. And like I mentioned, 9/10 times they will just give you full time rather than deal with the legal issues.
Hmmm.. American here.. I had my appendix out, would have cost me probably 10k or some crazy shit, cost me 300 since i have great insurance provided through my job! :D
sorry, but this proves that in the USA evolution still works
So what is your proposed solution to the health care crisis in this county? Should everyone just find a better job/make more money? I am truly curious about your thoughts.
This is why I don't understand you burgers. it seems a lot of people's attitudes is "Fuck you, I got mine." Do you guys have an organized program for leaving the old and sick up on a mountain top to be eaten by wolves?
