If you ask me, it’s mostly just because we’re edgy, and we notice one group of people getting more upset than the rest when they hear their respective slur. People who get super offended by it seem to assign a lot more meaning to it than I feel is reasonable. It’s like they think hearing “nigger” is the same as hearing “I think you’re subhuman and I think slavery was justified.” ...whereas with every other slur, it’s just the easiest, low hanging fruit type of insult to hurl at somebody in the hopes of offending them. It’s damn near meaningless. When I call Asians chinks and gooks, nobody really tries to twist up my intent and try to make it seem like I want to gun them down like the old days. They just think I’m kind of a prick
