How many triangles do YOU have? It has to stop somewhere.
Your picture and hardware limitations
no
>posting this in a year RTX came out
6,000,000 oughta do it
Lmao look at this retard
>Why did videogames stop improving their graphics?
are you fucking mental? ray tracing made a huge difference, the models are most rea;listic they ever been... get a good rig mybe?
you should stop playing on console, pleb
Pleb confirmed, I can definitely see the difference between 6000 and 60000 polys
retard detected.
The OP wasn't saying that's there's no difference, just that the difference is becoming less noticeable, smaller, hence diminishing returns
I've Apollo 5.7 GHz with two Titans XL you stupid dumbfuck, it cost more than your life. 128GB RAM too.
I see, you're using extremely expensive hardware to play videogames.
Nice.
H O T T A K E
Because of the diminishing returns of vidya tech, the next step at making games look better is to give up on striving for photo-realism and constantly better tech. You can't make a game look better just by hoping for 'better graphics'
Instead the industry should use the tools it has more diversely. Explore more art styles, different ways of presenting information, different use of colour. I want to see highly stylised games. That would be bringing the industry forwards.
many indie titles have realised this, or perhaps been forced into it through budget constraints. And many look better despite having 'worse graphics'
I mostly have it so I can play 4K YouTube and Photoshop open for fake cum pics.
They didn't, they just stopped improving the graphics of singular models and chose to invest in tech that lets you have more good looking shit on screen at one time.
And you're complaining about graphics in videogames.
>triangles
As a blender user this hurts me deeply
We are reaching photo-realism, it is nearing the point where we no longer need to improve graphical capabilities since it will look exactly like real life, we will move on to perfecting physics and VR.
Have you even played a video game in the last 10 years?
There is no change in graphics from Witcher 3 to present day.
And?
The graphics must improve more. I payed for it. Developers are lazy.
U cant get graphics that look better then real life at this point its not the ammount of triangles a model has but the resolution of the texture applyed to it
Selling a game has changed. Now it's more about keeping your fans playing for years like overwatch and Minecraft and rainbow 6 seige. Where updates and DLC is worth more than development on a new title
You deserve microtransactions.
This too.
It's hard to make updates and DLCs when you have to do everything to a consistently gorgeous quality. Why not just make it decently nice and save yourself a lot of work?
because this requires skill, that only a talented and passionate game creator can muster to develop for the love of his passion
skill that a whole team of mediocre "game designers", all with college degrees merely proving that they know the vocabulary of the most industry-approved graphic tool, hired at their post by corporations whose goal are to get the highest ratings by conventions journalists to realize the highest number of sales possible can't ever hope to attain
You will work harder, motherfuckers, or I will make sure youre entire industry will get ruined by piracy.
My industry?
I have contacts.
They haven't though. In fact they are working on new stuff and I think ray tracing could be a game changer.
youtu.be
because the ps4 and xbone are still the current gen you idiot.
hardware limitations exist.
My industry?
They havent? Check out quixel you fool. They have a trailer on youtube that is real time graphics. Looks like a fucking movie
crysis is pretty much the best you can hope for, and that came out over 10 years ago
