Nice. Im doing this right now
Both in progress tho. That’s why they are so ugly. Very good to pass time
Nice work on the weathering.
Hi
You didn’t paint anything. It comes molded into the colors. You weathered it and added stickers.
What kit did you use?
What is that?
put it in ur anus lul
im modeling some sci fi assets in Blender for a 3D Intro template that im creating atm.
Are these butt plugs?
It is painted. The og kit colours were a bit too “plasticity” to be fair the colours are basically the exact same as the base colours just matter now.
I used this kit.
*matted
Nice.
How many have you done so far OP? Looks pretty good.
Good idea. But the splinters though...
Only done two so far. Just got back into coz I was bored in lockdown. Here’s my other effort.
Busy painting up 3d prints
Found out I have no brass
Is Michaels in Maryland open or am I sol?
I wish I could paint mine like that... I have built 2 out of the 3 kits I've had sitting around forever and now I'm looking at the master and perfect grades...
Honestly I love building them and just putting the up to display. Even unpainted they still usually look pretty bad ass...
Markers
the cheap paint marker set on Amazon/Wish with a dozen plus colors
Use them first for hilight and edge
Just put tip in line, and pull
You dont need to pain the more broad areas, and a quick few lines of black will really make your model look good
Nice! Good info, I got some random free Gundam pen markers (they were a bonus at a con) but they were useless colors so I never opened them to even look. I'll look on Amazon in a sec then.
How do you remove the pieces from the rest? (Personal opinions here please) I'm horrible old school and back and forth till they come out and the a knife to smooth them...
I ude a set of thin dices

I used to play warhammer in my youth so I spent a lot of time painting. It’s pretty easy to get a good finish with little effort though. There are a couple of YouTube channels that have some good tips. “Like gunpla” and “paint on plastic” are worth a watch
I snip them out with clippers and then use a knife or mould line remover and finish with fine sand paper ( if it’s not hidden coz sanding is annoying as fuck)
lol ditto on War Hammer I played but didn't paint. I had friend who were artists so they would make them for me.
I tried some gunpla channels a long long time ago but they were like clear coating the models and shit and I just don't care that much.
I love Gundam, I love giant fighting robots with lasers and fucking swords, so of course I love Gundam. But so far, for me, just putting them together is super fun and relaxing. At then end I get a pretty fucking cool model to display and I like that.
Whoa? For real you sand?
Dude I thought I was doing alot with my insane shaving with my knife lol. I do it till it feels smooth...
I've never even considered this as an option... Thanks user. Super fine grain on like for finger and then go till smooth?
Yeah some of the channels do go pretty far with their prep, but you can take some tips. One I’ve used in the past is doing the panel lines with the markers and cleaning up the lines with a cotton bud dipped in white spirt works well and even just picking out the panel lines makes them look even better. And your right about the relaxation expect.
Added these. Link to the markers you rec? I assume they are fine point or something...?
If the part is going to be visible I’ll sand it down. If your not going to paint it kit sand it with a lot grit count like 500 or something to get the stump down but then sand it with a really fine grit like 1000 -2000 to polish it and get all the scratches from the lower grit off.

They’re not that fine to be honest, good for 1/100 scale and 1/144. Thing is you can go over the edge with them as long as you use the cotton buds with spirt technique after to wipe off the excess.
I've always wanted to make a transformable model of one of these. Does anyone know of one? 24"-36" would be ideal.
Is that Macross? If it is Bandai do kits similar to gundam ones. I think they transform, but I’m not too sure.
I made a youtube channel
Subscribe if you want I could really use the help but it's cool seeing all the different things anons have been doing
