I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Personally I lean more towards smoky, aged flavours, so mostly bourbon or other types of barrel aged spirits.

Understandable. I've always wanted to like Whiskey and bourbon but could never really get into it. I mostly just drink vodka and rum, I'd much prefer rum but vodka is cheaper. Also drinking rum makes me feel like a pirate

It's just a matter of personal preference/taste. If you like getting hammered for cheap, absinthe is the most cost effective.

yes! pirates are cool. is absinthe really the most cost effective? I haven't heard that. I started reading the book Mr. Midshipman Hornblower today and it's really fuckin good.

It's either absinthe or everclear. The latter being extremely more unpleasant than the former, nearly unbearable. But yes, they get you drunker, in smaller amounts.
