I much prefer muff diving.

It freaks me the fuck out. Someone has to go down in Devil's Hole and count the retarded fish that live there and just knowing that freaks me out. Some motherfucker died and sank and was never found. Fuck that.

I hate myself for being here

Same for me.

Not the sport for me.

Reminder to watch this:

I much prefer overwater diving

I love it reef diveing is like being in a sw fish tank. Wreck diveing is like flying through an old building. Sea creatures also rule.

you mean underwater caving?
i love regular diving, i do free diving which is just diving without any breathing equipment. the only things i wear is my flippers, sometimes a wet suit, my goggles and a very short snorkel. i have went on a 10 metre dive without any of that though and id like to try doing it regularly. i love it vs scuba diving because of how unrestricting it is and how normal it feels vs having to follow instructions.
but underwater caving is the worst because of how dark it is, i went a metre into one and i couldn't tell how much time i had left in me and it gets tighter. so anything even your own body can get caught and suddenly you're stuck waiting to drown with no sense of way.

scary larry

Califag here. Guy I used to know from AA meetings like to cave dive, was an expert. He was a Chad and stil talked to me, really upbeat, cool guy with a kid. Went cave diving once by himself and never returned. Body washed up a few days later.
RIP Chad bro.
Some girl was talking at a meeting and mentioned his death, or I never woulda known. Sometimes people just stop going to meetings and you don't see them again.
I have a scuba license. I'd never go near a cave, much less alone. There's just so little time due to air and so easy to panic.

Video unavailable, asshat.

No, this:

Former scuba diver for a VERY large aquatic park. Ask me anything.
I have years of this shit under my belt and the only thing that scares me now is dolphins. Seriously, dolphins are some of the oceans biggest assholes and the females are worse than the males. Beluga whales are cool as fuck and penguins are absolutely rad.
Sharks are retarded in aquariums and so are killer whales, but I actually didn't get to spend too much time with either, so I can't be sure. Sea lions smell like shit and will fuck you up if you threaten them, but are otherwise chill.

I may have to answer in batches because captcha is being gay

Don't you guys have any kind of underwater bread crumb system like pin a ribbon to a rock as you enter or take a turn so that you know how to get back out? I've never understood why cave diving kills so many people.
I recognize that it does, but I've never understood why. Background: Never dived anywhere besides streams and pools

You only dive with a cylinder? You've never dived 50m+ into the ocean with a rebreather?

Do you work at seaworld ?

Are penguins aggresive ?

How to seduce female dolphin?

scuba diving, one of the reasons ill never do it while i am capable of free diving.
the fact that you have to remember all this pressure and shit just to stay alive is beyond stupidly scary. the idea that you can be stuck on the seabed with two deaths, going up and likely dying because of what the change in pressure will do or just drowning.

the thing with freediving is that to do it, you need to get over that phrase where you panic which usually happens quickly, once you're past that you can enjoy the water for as long as you want and coming up when you have no air. you've got to learn the signs and then you're relatively safe. but in the case of you passing out, it happens almost instantly but the last thoughts aren't drunk-like, it's insane happiness and pure joy. so while you'd drown, it's better than a scuba drown. that's coming from multiple experiences, always have a diving buddy and rotate your dives so that no one is alone for more than 10 seconds.

worst scare related to your equipment?

very scary, don’t know what’s down there

120ft is the deepest I've spent a long duration at. I don't have the budget for a rebreather.

I used to work there, yeah. The job was mostly scrubbing the walls and floors of the gigantic animal tanks, but also involved a lot of animal wrangling. Was fun. Coworkers were fucked up tho.
Penguins are not aggressive towards people, but they would walk right up to you and press their tummy against your shin like some bro getting in your face.
The worst thing about penguins is that their exhibit tank was about 40°f in the water and if you didn't tuck in your zipper on your dive suit, they would catch it underwater and you'd have freezing cold water rush into your suit as they unzipped you. It was funny when it happened to the new guys. Penguins are quirky like most birds.

Got plenty of dives under my belt
Mostly tropical leisure dives but also trained in cold water with near 0 visibility and strong currents.
Last dive was a couple of months ago, was boring as fuck, great barrier reef in australia

ill let you in on a little secret user.
you may have posted that picture because it's haha funny but sex shark isn't a joke. in fact i think it must be a cosmic joke that im awake so early to see his picture. for years ive been diving with only one hope in mind, sex shark. he was my first lover, i was his mistress and he's the reason to live. at first i was scared because he is a shark but the second he laid he muscular and oily hand on me, i was at peace with the world. it was when i was held against the seabed by sex sharks insane muscles that i understood what pleasure actually meant. overpowered by such a beast and made his bitch, sex shark is all i want in life.
i just hope that one day, sex shark will once again caress my body before filling me up.

be the worst way to die if you fuck up

Under what else would a person dive?

>going up and likely dying because of what the change in pressure will do
If you have to go up quick you just get inside a decompression chamber asap.

hahaha i gotta assumed it's shopped and no one actually spent all the time and effort changing that sign for real? Right?

Look like you are drowning and she will pin you to the bottom of the dolphin tank.

>ery first day of diving for work, I ran low on air while cleaning a dolphin holding 'pen'
>popped up and told the safety guy I needed a new tank.
>lazy ass told me to swim over to him and get it myself
>start swimming over, he suddenly starts freaking the fuck out, waving his arms at me and saying "NO! DON'T SWI-"
>I get grabbed by something and pulled underwater, I instantly grab my breather amd suck in the last of my air
>see that a dolphin has grabbed my buoyancy vest and is pulling me to the bottom of the 30ft tank
>suck in one half breath of air and the breather is tight
>panic sets in as the dolphin lets go and squeals loudly underwater
>panic harder as two of his buddies swim right up and all three of them are staring me down, squeaking and clicking to each other with their mouths open like big gay smiles
>I go limp and pretend I'm dead
>panicked brain tells me they can probably hear my heart beating rapidly anyways
>still no air
>tell myself I'm probably gonna die, just be at peace
>after about a minute of dolphins squeaking, they dart off
>kick my feet on the bottom of the pool and rocket to the top
>gasp for air and thank whatever god may be listening that I didn't die of dolphin rape before losing my virginity

>The faggot safety guy comes over to me and tells me not to swim across open water when the dolphins are around

I understand that moment of peace thing, but are you free diving by yourself or with assholes?

strange larp, user. 4/10

under dat ass

My high school physics teacher was a cabe diver and he said something like cave diving has the highesst death/participant ratio of all hobbies iirc

holy fuck dude.
Dolphins... not even once.

Cars and fat chicks

Ausfag here, if people were meant to swim, we’d be fish
Let the sharks and crocs have their territory

yeah

That was my first day, user. I've got several years of 5 days a week of this shit.

for technical cave dives people will bring a spool of string

Where’s this sign located? Very eerie

It feels like eating out your mom.

ive only freedived with dolphins twice. both times wild so either im lucky or it's non wild that are assholes in that sense.
both times, they've always been very curious about us but too curious to touch us or us to touch them.
id love to take up scuba to make diving a job with animals but as you know, captivity changes their behaviour.
