It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

I haven't been buying bread, so no sandwiches for me. Also with eggs, I do that. And it's good just on its own.
My biggest sin is putting it in pasta sauce.

I would argue that he didn't plan for that exactly. But he knew that his action, which was for the purpose of securing the love of the princess, was going to have a negative consiquense.
This was his plan Yas Forums since he lost his Yas Forums player, Guts. Sure, it's not a great plan. But since when has Yas Forums ever been great?

Guts carried that excursion and you know it. If Guts wasn't there, it would have failed.
And it's tragic that I remember this thought now.... but isn't it kinda fucky that a GOOD character would be in possession of a cursed item? (berserk armor. I'm implying the fairies and skull knight are evil. Guts too kinda because he took this cursed item in order to get petty revenge on the guy who cucked him)
Pretty sure Guts is the bad guy and Griff is the good here.

No, no, you have it all wrong.
Guts donned the Berserker armor because he was in a desperate situation and needed to be able to combat Grunbeld. Even though it's a cursed item, Guts sacrificed his body and mind to it so he could do what needed to be done. That's how a sacrifice is done, a selfless act to protect others.
