Technically they're aggregate fruit (a bunch of smaller fruits massed together and held together by a core. It's why their seed count and fiber are so high).

You can even get sweet ones (i.e the yellows).

Ironically, Serbia is the king of raspberries there. By our standards, they're primitive ones though (using a cultivar from ancient times called Williamette, which isn't considered a stunner).
