Guns are far more nuanced. I grew up an impoverished little shit in the midwest hunting deer and Turkey and as a result, I think sport shooting is a painful lack of ammo but I respect the skill of the guys who do it.

You're right upon review, I should have opened up the question up. There was the ban quite recently as a kneejerk to ol' Mosquey boy. But the buyback system failed and something like 90% of people gave nothing up, everyone I personally knew that owned AR's still have them. Though fully auto anything is really rare over here and may have been illegal this whole time. With correct licence endorsements you're still fine for collecting.
I suppose I did grow up with the privilege of not having 1/100th of the gun crime the US does. I've been through the US though, I didn't go through any poor area and was fine. I come froma comically poor family, we just don't have the same gun view as you cats.
