Whats it like to be a 30yo in 2020 and watch the decline of Western Civilization in real time?
Whats it like to be a 30yo in 2020 and watch the decline of Western Civilization in real time?
Pretty shit. I want to go back to the 90's
Sucks because I'm actually trying to start a family and shit.
Disappointing and extremely predictable. People around you seem like living memes, doing the same vapid shit over and over again. And there is nothing you can do to change it.
Now at the point where it matters to put forth effort in life I realize it is pointless.
I could bust ass to achieve stability then some sneezy fuck can destroy my ecosystem.
Nothing special. Just everyday shit. Like before.
This. I kiss the 90s. It's like comparing smartphones to Nokia old-school crap. One clearly outclasses the other, but you'd have a hard time arguing that if no one ever experienced the clearly better option (the 90s)
Yes a smartphone is a bad analogy for the past but thats exactly how it feels. Music, art, economy, politics, schools, stores, malls, restruraunts. So many things that just haven't existed for at least 15 years. It's sad to see that things get worse and people want to kill themselves more and more because of parasitic Keynesian monetary policy.
Things were pretty alright with trump in office and before this virus though, tbh, I was pretty comfy...
this
The military is the biggest Keynesian work program.
first post truest and best post
I use to walk to the video rental store (Video Buffs) where they would have one dollar clear case rentals. I'd pick out a cheesey Kaiju movie and ONE game for either Sega or SNES every time. After that I'd make a run to the comic store a short walk away where I'd select the latest darkhorse comics and if I was lucky browse the collectible card boxes looking for something good. Next stop was the winchell's donut house that always had the most beautiful donuts on display; I'd get my favorite, a pink frosted cruller. Then I'd walk less than fifteen minutes back home and enjoy my bounty on a bright summer's day. Pure heaven.
Honestly kinda boring. Feels like shit went to hell in a handbasket long before you were even born so you're fucked from the start
It's pretty fun actually, this is the most interesting thing that's happened in years. The world is usually so boring, but Covid has spiced things up rather nicely. I'm about to crack open a bottle of Corona to celebrate. Cheers, mates.
It's not the decline, it's the distillation.
>Keynesian economics is the problem
The problem is trickle down economics, and has been since the '80s. Don't know how how you'd be led to believe it's the other way around unless you're some Boomer that's been watching nothing but Fox news for the past couple decades
Covid isn't the disease, it's the cure. Let the weak, sick, and poor die. Let it kill the homeless and the elderly. We have enough people on this rock to spare, fuck the quarantine, fuck the vaccine. Let everyone get the infected, the strong will survive and the human race will be better for it.
I have loads of cash and silver... my retirement Accts went treasuries in nov feelsgoodman
Gonna buy up a shit ton of real estate to include a personal retreat on 5-7 acres. Get one in foreclosure.
Honestly? It's been great for my stocks portfolio. I bought a ton when the market crashed for a day and I've already made a huge profit.
I was born after 9/11 and I'm allowed to be here
I'm 29 and when I was first on Yas Forums back in highschool, I had to pretend I was 18 to avoid getting b&. Mostly went on /g/ and /prog/. I hope you all have read your SICP today.
How about the 20 yr olds who inherited a decaying globe of misery
No one cares what you have to say.
Naturally
I first came here around 2012. I turned 18 earlier this year.
I am patient. There will be a reactionary movement somewhere once things are bad enough, and then there will be somewhere decent to go.
What did you invest in user?
The globe has been a decaying miserable piece of shit for far longer than 20 years, you'll realize that when you're older. Read a history book, or even a fucking youtube video about history if you don't have the attention span to read. We've all been brought into a world of suffering and misery, and that's been a fact for thousands of years.
Hate Trump for being an unlikable sexist racist bigot all you want, but no one can deny that he's done a much better job running this country than Obama did. It's not even fucking close. He's an insufferable prick, but he's a good president.
Still waiting for a call to arms against the clankers
Everyone likes to pretend that the time they live in is the worst era in history. In reality, right now is one of the most comfortable times in the history of humanity.
