I'm just curious, can anyone explain why the soundtrack for this game is so sad?

well, the game itself has this sad tone/vibe.
i don't know if any of you guys feel this way but i think TESIV, with the whole uriel's death thing, his unknown son and all the characters losing hope and being ready for a terrible faith, has a much darker tone than any other elder scrolls game and the soundtrack fits perfectly with that.
I kinda see it when you discover another gate, but besides that it doesn't really feel all that sad
Idk about all that. I liked the soundtrack, didn't really find it to be sad at all. The game did have a lot of hopelessness and evil but seemed like a happy ending.
Don't get me wrong, it's by far my favorite game soundtrack. I like playing the game just for the music alone. But if you listen to it, it's pretty sad. Especially the piano part.
i'd say skyrims is a lot sadder tbh
I find it relaxing. I've studied while listening to it frequently. Good ambiance and nostalgia
i like this game but not skyrim
why?
I didn't find it sad, I found it comforting. Then again, I never played any of the expansions.
Not sure i'd call it sad. Maybe somber.
Probably the GOAT of soundtracks to vidya tho
I can't comment on that. Sadly my POS computer can't run it at a high FPS, but I want to play it enough so I'm gonna bite the bullet and do it.
I like the music but it's very sad. I'm just wondering if there was a reason behind that.
You guys really don't think it's sad? Maybe not all of it, but when you're roaming around freely and the piano part comes in, I find pretty sad. Almost like the world is in a sad state of affairs. Which is fitting when you come across a gate.
Favorite game of all time right here. My favorite moment is when you enter the Kvatch oblivion gate and meet that dude fighting for his life. I would always make him follow me and try to make sure he gets out alive. Kinda shitty how he acts like he doesn't even know you once the quest is complete.
Autiels Ascension is literally the only sad son but it plays all the time on the PC version. I had the 360 version (which excluded that track) back in 06 and didn't play it on PC until 09.
Nah I don't find it to be sad. Feels like freedom.
That's the first gate right? I always found that guy annoying and enjoyed watching him die, personally.
Yeah that's the one I'm thinking about. I love that song but I wonder why it plays so much in this game. You're right about that too. I played this game first on PS3, then on PC.
Listen to it again. I mean really listen to it. There's no way you don't find it to be sad.
I always told him to leave so I didn't have to worry about his little bitch ass
What bothered me is how if you tell me to stay and help, he would act like a total retard about it
Just listened. It's like a lullaby to me man. Chillaxed
The composer (Jeremy Soule) was in a near-fatal car accident.
This soundtrack was what he created afterwards. Something about wanting to capture the beauty of life.
Yeah it's a very sad song and has some notes that remind me of morrowinds main theme. It's like a finality that Morrowind has come and gone. Almost acts like a eulogy for Morrowind.
Yeah but he also just got his ass handed to him by stunted scamps, and that's weak daedra. His whole squad he came in with was rekt as well
Alright, tell me what you consider to be a sad song
Are you saying it has nothing to do with the game's theme itself?
I don't find Morrowind's main theme sad. Am I missing something?
True, but if that were the case he should've been hauling ass the second he saw a way out
Yikes had no idea about that. After playing Oblivion though it was impossible for me to get into Skyrim the same way. Oblivion was better in every way. Didn't feel like you were getting spoon fed dragon souls. Things felt dangerous and you actually wanted to listen to the stories.
>I don't find Morrowind's main theme sad. Am I missing something?
I said auriels ascension is sad and shares notes from Morrowinds main theme. I said nothing about Morrowinds theme itself being sad.
Yeah that's the first gate. I found it kind of touching that, even though his squad has been defeated, he still decides to fight the hellspawn until his death... I like to imagine that is what I would do if my hometown was attacked by demons. Turns out he is an ungrateful jerk though who doesn't even aknowledge that you saved his life. Kinda makes me want to reinstall oblivion just to let him die.
It was written and performed by OP in a collaboration with his dadmom and her well hung power top mtf trans into sissy chastity bdsm roleplay fwb. OP also has a gamer walk through you tube channel which sucks and im not going to sully up the dick rating and incest larping we currently enjoy.
Man I still have it installed. Did the hackdirt mission where theyre trying to sacrifice the argonian last month.
I dont really know any songs that make me feel sad
It is interesting how there are comments suggesting that the music of Oblivion and Skyrim sound sad and mellow. I think Morrowind's soundtrack had a mix of serenity and mysterious eeriness, and Daggerfall's soundtrack seemed predominantly spooky and lonely sounding, if I remember correctly. I didn't play Arena, but I think it was probably similar to Daggerfall's music.
i mean it marks the death of the last septim and for that the last ruling empire with the blood of dragons in their veins, all of the elder scrolls games are very somber at their core
I accidentally stumbled upon that place my first playthrough without the quest. I can't quite remember what happened but I ended up killing the entire village in an outdoors brawl. I felt bad about it, mind you this was before I knew they were evil.
What quest is this?
