I got you bud. Like he said nothing shorter than 16” because then you get into pistol category and if you’re not familiar with the laws you can get into some trouble with that. Personally I have a 16” 5.56 and an 18” 5.56 l. Both are great however naturally the 18 is slightly heavier but not very noticeable. Another thing you have to consider is what kind of handrail do you want. All of mine are “key mod” besides my .300blk pistol which is “m-lok”. Both variations are good for what they do but if you feel like mounting a ton of shit on it I would stick with just your standard picatinny rail.
