Disregarding your obvious attempt to troll and just start a left vs right argument, the real issue is that there is nuiance to opening up the country again. Some places clamped down early and they have contained it very well, some other places will probably need more time. You have to take each city on an individual level and create a plan to get the economy going again. We can't stay in lockdown forever. If we just stop indefinately the whole economy will completely crash and we will have waaayyyyy more human death and suffering than if we plan, think, and roll out a restart based on data. There is going to be a certain amount of risk but you have to weigh that risk vs. a guaranteed depression if we just sit out the rest of the year or until we get an actual vaccene. That is too much time.
