Never did psychedelics before here. Share some experiences etc. Big thing I wanna know is, when you’re tripping are you aware you are tripping? Or do you believe everything you are experiencing is real?

depends, sometimes the border between reality and trip can melt but you while on a good trip you'll always know that you're currently in a altered state of mind caused by a substance
what do you mean "is real" ? do you believe everything you're experiencing right now is real? what is the difference? if your question is, am i aware that i am under the influence of a drug, the answer is yea but i usually trip at lower doses.
Depends on how hard you're tripping. Eventually, you get to a level of ego loss where you can't distinguish what's real from what's not. You might not even be able to see what's in front of your face anymore. Those are the trips that tend to change you as a person. For the vast majority, it's overwhelmingly positive, for an unfortunate few, it's extremely negative.
Or you can just take a single hit of street grade acid or a half eighth of mushrooms and have the best night of your life and laugh your ass off to the point that your jaw is sore the next day. That's the beauty of the drug.
During my best shroom trip so far I felt a complete pulsating presence of my nervous system (spine, brain and eyes) while a complete numbness of all other organs. This resulted into feeling like a 'snake' in a meat container, as best to describe it. It was amazing man. Felt real mind opening at the time. pic related
>Big thing I wanna know is, when you’re tripping are you aware you are tripping?
of course.
main thing is just Acid trips are really long, like 10-14 hours, so honestly if you get sucked into watching a movie or something immersive sometimes you just forget for a moment that you're tripping.
But it's obvious.
With proper preparation etc it's not a problem though.
Usually it's a good idea when you're tripping to print out a big piece of paper that has large, bold text saying "YOU ARE TRIPPING! RELAX!" etc. Helps if you randomly forget and something freaks you out or whatever.
Also what these guys say is true. . I usually only dose 1 or 2 tabs, I dont go hard.
If you (eventually, you're not gunna be going this hard for a long time as a newbie to psychs) start taking big doses though like 4-5 tabs then yeah, ego death makes it difficult to tell what's real or not, whether you're alive or dead, dreaming or not.
Like he says, you can go hard and try to change yourself as a person from a spiritual dose or you can just take a single tab or two, sink some beers, smoke a bowl after the peak and have a blast.
My advice, read up about it on psychonauts, erowid etc. Be prepared, have the right mindset going into it, know about 'setting' and you'll be good to go.
You know your trippin. You will learn about yourself in a way you never have before. You may not like what you see about yourself but that's part of the fun. You will be different in a way after your first time. Your mind is expanded and thinks in a slightly different way. It's not for everyone some people don't want to see who they are or what thoughts your mind has that you were not aware of before. Accept the trip, go with it and see where it takes you. Just always remember you will come down. Its like a rollercoaster, it builds and builds and then you peak and then you come down. Ride the snake and open your mind.
shat myself because I thought I was giving birth. embraced the shit baby but cried because I didn't know how I could tell my husband the baby was black. woke up the next morning with poo on my chest. I am a straight white male without a gf
Do your research, enter the state as an observer and you can always be aware that you're tripping even when you're completely lost in a different reality. Enjoy the shifting reality and watch what happens to your body, thoughts, vision, etc. Learned this shit from Richard Bandler.
Ive done mexican shrooms many times. Always new i was tripping even when it got very unreal. Its good to have someone not tripping you can trust around just in case something happens. as an example my dog got hurt somehow and i couldnt tell if he was good or not because i only saw his legs bending weirdly and his cries were destroying my brain, asked my buddy and told everything was fine so i stopped getting anxious
This is the wrong place for advice on hallucinogens. Go read trip stories and forums on Shroomery.
Best advice I ever got:
There is no such thing as a bad or good trip. Every trip is just a different experience.
There's a difference between psychedelic illusions and hallucinations.
Hallucinations are more often associated with dissociative drugs, ones that interfere with signals coming to and from the brain.
Psychedelic illusions are due to the pattern recognition functions of the brain, which are also catalyzed so to speak by the heightened amount of neuroplasticity that the drug creates.
For example:
>snakes coming out of the drain
Hallucination
>Fractals emerging between the tiles on the bathroom floor
Illusion
The line blurs a bit on larger doses of each respective substance.
Be careful anons. I had a buddy get stuck in a loop while on LSD and DMT.
Yeah, you're aware that you're tripping even in the deepest depths.
Doesn't mean it won't give insights into reality or change your outlook on life for better or worse. At high doses I couldn't recommend a shaman enough to ground, guide and to shoo the evil thoughts away.
I mixed a huge double dipped tab with about close to a 1/4 shrooms and smoking weed of course. I lost time as we were in a national park trail walking up hills and such. I slipped on a green mossy rock and I thought I was bleeding from my head cause that's what I saw. At this time everything was in multi color with trees slamming up and down. I knew I was tripping balls but I couldn't get out of my head that I was bleeding. My friend, who was tripping balls also kept me calm for hours until I cam down a bit and could believe I was ok. I felt bad for my friend cause he had to babysit me and he was tripping hard like I was. Our other friends didn't want to be around me when that was happening cause they were tripping hard also. That's how you know you have a bro when he sits with you for hours keeping you calm and reassuring you that you're ok and not bleeding. He "saved" me that day when no one else cared. He was my best friend and he didn't abandoned me when I needed him. Much love for my bro, no homo.
This is a good view, although MOSTLY these get blurred (probably because I only do higher doses). From experience, it is much easier to hallucinate on shrooms, while LSD is predominantly illusions.
>had a buddy get stuck in a loop while on LSD and DMT.
That's a great way to explain it. I'm the user with the lsd and a lot of shrooms mixed and I was stuck in a loop for hours that felt like forever. I don't mix acid with shrooms any more since then. I just shroom because I prefer shrooms more. Too high a dosage or mixed with another hallucinogen is dangerous for real. Nothing wrong with eating a lot of shrooms but build to it, don't just eat a lot of shrooms or whatever hallucinations you like when you're a virgin tripper. Never try to compete with anyone on dosage because you don't have to be tripping your face off to enjoy the trip. Happy trails to all of us.
Steal your face...
Everything you experience is real.
>Everything you experience is real.
I disagree with that statement. Not everything is real. Our eyes lie to us as well as our minds. Real and reality are not a shared experience. We as humans know nothing about what is real. It's all a lie.
If you take a small or moderate dose of the more common ones, like LSD or psilocybin then you'll most likely be aware that you're under the influence through out the trip. Unless you somehow manage to forget that you took drugs, however being aware of that fact won't necessarily keep you from having a bad experience.
Not everything you experience is real in general.
What a lot of psychedelics have in common aside from the visual effects is that sensation of melding of your mental scape and the physical world. It does become harder to tell if something is truly taking place in a concrete manner or if it's all in your mind.
> For unfortunate few extremely negative
Yeahr first I was scared I would forget who I am then I thought I was dead and after that I thought i will never come down and became insane. Then I thought police is there and my family and psychatrist and they all observing me from behind an edge. And that news helicopter is above the house. I think I thought it because i thought about killing myself by jumping from the balcony. Also I saw myself in future and I was an drug addict looser. I will never forget that night where I took first time acid and decided after an hour to take another blotter because "it feels good".
The only positive I could take out of it is that I quitted smoking tobacco, taking drugs and nearly not drinking anymore. Also that I try to focus on finishing my study.
The negative was depressions and anxiety came back and I started having an half year later panic attacks.
>blind nigger is blind
You forgot "taking less is better than taking too much"
> tldr you never had a bad trip
A bad trip is simply a trip with mainly negative feelings.
We share a reality space called Earth. While its not "real" in the sense that you can boil anything down to nothingness with enough wordplay, it's the closest thing we have to a grounding point.
Shared existence is a good reality grounding point. If we can both point to the wooden thing with four legs that our pipes are sitting on and call it a table, and we both comprehend what a table is, then we can establish that the table is real. Of course one or both of us could be lying, and there are tons of other ways you could prove nothing is real in this vain, lets assume we're both telling the truth. This means we've found a space we can both feel real in.
The mentality of "its all a lie" is a good thought experiment and definitely worth playing out for the perspective you gain because of it. However its not the best mindset to go into your first trip with, and that paranoia is not a good mindset to keep after the trip either.
Did some blue acid years ago. Took 4 hours to take effect, then lasted 12 more. Etheric and mind blowing high.
you don't always know you're tripping when you're tripping. it all depends on how much you take. I've had a bad trip in the past where I forgot I took mushrooms and thought I was going insane and I was going to stay that way forever.
I don't really believe that. I mean it's nice to have fun on 1g of shrooms with some friends, but that's all that it is, fun. That's just peeking into the lobby. I'm the 5g in darkness and silence and on empty stomach guy...heroic dose they call it.
if your mental health isn't very good 5g can be damaging.
It's both, it feels real but you know it isn't.
