Go for something like JPS Gold. They dont have as much nicotine, and theyre on the cheaper side for a mid range cigarette.
It used to go like.... white < gold < blue < red < purple as far as nicotine amount, but they removed that because people thought lighter ones were "better" for you, so now theres no specific labelling about the milligrams of tar/nicotine etc. But basically go for gold type lighter style smokes so you dont charge right in to being mega addicted.
Get the "crush ball" ones if you want to try out menthol occasionally, or for your last couple drags. Also girls like menthols so you can share with them.
Dont get things like Holidays, and other low tier (cheaper) ones as they honestly taste twice as bad as mid tier ones for a few extra dollars.
The idea is once youre so addicted to cigarettes that you realise youre spending too much money on them, then you can go to shitty Holidays which are cheaper to buy. Then after that you start rolling your own which is actually cheaper and often a bit nicer tasting if you get decent tobacco. Port Royal is always nice for rolling tobacco, has a port wine flavour added or something.
