Only 9/11 competes. Changed air travel permanently, started a war with far-reaching consequences all over the globe. This feels more historic though, I would wager more people are directly affected and the changes it brought about are more extreme. We may have plexiglass barriers at checkout everywhere, permanently.

Thoughts?

Dude no you won't, go drink some water and calm down

Yeah, no matter with who I talk to around the globe, they are directly affected by Covid in some way. I don't remember anything like that during 9/11.

Only the fall of the USSR really rivals it imo in my lifetime.

This is gonna look so funny in history books.
"Chinese wet markets caused the emergence of SARS-Covid, and were promptly shut down, but then slowly reopened and Covid-19 emerged. They closed them again for about a month, then slowly re-opened..."

I have contacts

I imagine it seemed big when it happened but man we millennials are completely desensitized to regime changes

Little you know, NASA has detected a killer-asteroid on April 6 and it's going to wipe out 3/4 of life on Earth.

Well if your contacts are the problem soak them in solution for a few hours and maybe they'll stop irritating you so much

More than negative things can be historic.
Public adoption of Internet for example had a much bigger impact on the course of human history than a pandemic or plane flying into a building. And that's off the top of my head.

Yeah I suppose you guys have a different outlook. This is something else, affects everyone. It just seemed earthshaking at the time.

Give me one reason to regard this asteroid any differently than allllllll the previous "killer asteroids" doomer

Doesn't feel like an "event" per se though.

Did you read that on daily express? Did you happen to just read the headline?
Because if so, daily express, a tabloid, reports that every week and if you read the article it surfaces its actually not going to hit us.

The odds of this happening are infinitesimally low.

2020.

Only if it eradicates the Jews

>The odds of this happening are infinitesimally low
Say that to yourself just 6 months ago about everything happening now.

>I have contacts
Wow...
But it wasn't the glasses that made you a permavirgin, it was your hatred, insecurity and partic lying.
