The traditional understanding is that alien life may or may not exist at this at this point in time anywhere in the universe. Here I invite you to propose your own little theories that provide a fun explanation of what exactly is going on out there. Here is my theory and the inspiration for this thread:
........Enough time has passed. If an intelligent civilization survived, by now they would most certainly be capable of camouflaging themselves from anyone including us. If they wanted to make contact they could have, but instead they chose to forcefuly prevent any species from communicating or interacting with us. This is because the universe's vastness would require a tremendous effort to censor. Such a feat would certainly be achievable by an advanced alien civilizatiom that has existed for millions of years.
Why would they do this you ask? Perhaps it's because this powerful alien civilization wants to experiment and study how earth develops. Earth could be one of a kind, or it could be number 145 trillion. You never know.

My only theory is this, the universe is such a vast place, and humans barely grasp an understanding of what our existence even is. There could be absolutely anything out there.

oh you mean lterally every theory tht mainstream scientists try to push? cool man original idea nice

>you really think i'm reading all that shit you double nigger?

I am under the impression that aliens already reside within us. Or that we are the aliens who took over proto-humans bodies as a means of survival, they now live on through humanity.

The speed of light is a big problem, even if a civilization got close to it, it's still donkey slow to get around a solar system let alone a universe.

Digital physics strongly suggests reality is based on information, virtual, if that's the case then, what ever came up with the idea would have to manage resources, we could be the the only experiment going.

Perhaps we should think about growing up as a civilization first?

>mainstream scientists try to push
Oh look the fake-news-conspiracy-theorist- showed up! Another potential science thread will go to shit now.

I would like to address the Fermi Paradox.
Considering the number of civilizations that should exist according to the Drake Equation, people wonder why we've never picked up a radio transmission from any of them.

Consider for a moment the logistics of interstellar warfare. Without fantasy elements such as faster-than-light travel, unmanned and automated weapons would simply make more sense if you wanted to destroy a planet that would take 17 years to reach. Given the constant movement of all things in the universe and the inaccuracy of firing a weapon on a linear path across such long distances, a homing weapon would be a logical choice. Considering the fact that only civilized worlds would be outputting modulated radio transmissions, an automated weapon designed to home in on radio waves would be an ideal way to target a planet.

I posit that a feasible explanation for the Fermi Paradox is that these probably older civilizations are aware that omni-directionally broadcasting your position is an inherently dangerous thing to do. One need only observe our own natural wildlife to confirm this: both predator and prey go to great lengths to conceal their positions.

This guy gets it

It's been said before, but we look for very specific environments and factors when looking for potentially habitable planets, what's uninhabitable for us may be perfectly habitable for them. I think they'll still follow basic rules of evolution and practicality, I don't expect any telepathic, matter manipulating "superheros" or anything 'spiritual' or bodiless they would have to have a physical body, but they may have evolved to work in different ways. For example, they may not use hands and might have very adept tentacles or some crap, or we both might be totally incapable of speaking eachothers language due to vocal differences. Intelligent life may not even have. It's also possible they may be intelligent but don't have the limbs capable of creating technology as advanced as ours, which also means it's a strong possibility. I have a bunch of other theories but this shits already long lmao
