The way you pose the question makes it sound like you're asking what the benefit is to society. There probably isn't one. It's probably a detriment.

The only benefit, if there is any, is to the rapist. A rapist probably feels really good raping a woman. I mean, there's a lot of risk involved and yet they do it anyway. Something must be driving them to do it, and whatever it is, fulfilling that desire probably feels really really good. The rapist gets to orgasm, of course, but it's probably more about subjugation and dehumanization, so the rapist gets to experience a power trip having taken away a woman's control and agency over her own body. It's the most intimate act possible involving the most private part of her body, and its done in direct defiance of her will. She's forcibly entered by someone not invited, and then that person fills her with one of his bodily fluids, possibly impregnating her, possibly infecting her with any number of STDs. The "good" of that is only the enjoyment the rapist gets performing that violation, and inflicting that trauma.

Hehe, yes, I guess so. I feel split, actually. The power trip is secondary and mostly something to dwell on after the rape itself is over. Too many people downplay the sexual desire. Rape is about getting sexual release that you otherwise wouldn't get from a certain girl. The power trip comes later when you reflect on what you have done to another person and what she is going through because of you.
