I prefer whisky

No. I got pissed on it when i was 12, now the smell makes me retch. I don't mind bourbon tho.

Aye. I'm getting more anxiety after drinking so I decided to stop drinking. Kinda sucks cause I really love it.

No, I fell into the kettle when I was 12, now the smell makes me retch. Superhuman strength is nice though.

I love a bourbon. Unfortunately I cannot drink anymore due to IBS. FML I guess.

yup. It's the tastiest liquor and gives me a sensation I don't get with other liquors aside from tequila. everything else tastes like shit to me, but gin can be bearable

I like a rye whiskey

Are you Australian?

#Me too, preferably a single malt.

What do anons think of my current line-up?

Sure do. Out of that image, I've tried the Woodford, the Makers, and the Bulleit. All of which are solid choices. I also like Rabbit Hole, Angel's Envy, Rittenhouse, Monkey Shoulder, Jameson, Glenfiddich, and Johnny Walker Blue.

Those are my go-to's anyway.

Most bourbon is too sweet for me, but I like Islay Scotches a lot. But I am also a degenerate alcoholic, so I’ll drink most things.

I love bourbon. Even Williams is my favourite.

no

Me too

Do yuu actually like Johnnie Walker Blue Label a lot or are you drinking it to be seen drinking? "Conspicuous consumption". I've had it and thought it was horribly overrated, a nice vatted malt and very smooth but not even close to justifying the price tag and the high regard in which it is held by some people. The Johnnie Walker Green Label is an excellent whisky though; much better than Blue Label.

I've only ever had Blue and Black. I thought Blue was actually really nice, although it's been a long time and I was a beginner whiskey drinker when I tried it. I guess I should leave it off my list until I have a chance to try it again, since it's been so long.

Jealous

Knob Creek and monkey shoulder are pretty good

Love whisky as a national expression. The difference between US and Scott whisky is crazy.
Japanese and Indian whisky are interesting.
And as an Aussie and whisky enthusiast, I would suggest trying Aus Tasmanian whisky.
It punches above it's weight for price to quality ratio

Yes. What I'm drinking tonight/this morning

I've been drinking a brand called Stolen Whiskey, it's really good

I can sip one (max two) nice Islay on the porch, but just like wine I am not one for getting enjoyment out of figuring out complex notes.

My preference is Bourbon. No fuss, no having to get used to this peatiness or that smoke, just a nice and smooth delight.

I ONLY DRINK GOON

only hard liquor that doesn't make want to vomit are gin and brandy. mostly I stick with beer and wine. I drink very little alcohol in general

Whiskey is a gay whisky

Black Label is great for the price point, and this is coming from someone who almost never drinks blended whisky. Definitely try the Green Label, as I said, it's a lot better than the Blue Label.

i got a bottle of jim beam the other day. Usually just a beer drinker but wanted to branch out a bit. What's the best way to drink it? Shots? Mixed?

I'm curious; do most of you drink your whisky/whiskey neat, with ice, water drops? How many drops and with which whisky/whiskey?

Didn't know Stolen had a whisky.
Their rums for the price, punch above their weight.
Is it a mixer or a straight sipper?

To answer both your questions. It's down to personal preference. My preference is a decent measure with a single ice cube.

Shots or with coke. It's low proof and low flavor. Try Bulleit, Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, Basil Haydens, Makers 46 or Wild Turkey 101. From gentle to harsh depending on what you can find/afford. Higher proof straight bourbons are better if you open them up with a splash of water or on ice if you prefer. More alcohol and flavor and little or no additives like the cheap stuff has that leads to off flavors and bad hangovers.
