FF7 original isnt even turn based, its an open combat table that only inputs what you do. If you do nothing enemies will attack you forever, unlike FFX.
Compared to other ARPGs like dark souls and kingdom hearts this remake plays virtually the opposite, because in those it is all positional based and you can die in 1 hit, whereas FF7 remake you can't avoid attacks and have to eat minor dmg. Even blocking doesn't block full damage.

Yes I did, the combat style is basically the exacty same.
Ill say it for the 3rd time, FF7 ORIGINAL isn't even turn based, I tested this multiple times. If you don't do any actions the enemies will attack you forever, the "turn" doesn't freeze at all,

It can be, that's in the options. You can set it to completely turn-based or to Active Time Battle where enemies will keep attacking if you don't. Or you can leave it set to default where only characters who have a full ATB guage will take a turn before the game waits on you.

Wrong, I just tested the "wait config" setting literally like 4 days ago, they continually attack regardless of your wait time bar. Test it again, even the enemies at the start will attack you 40+ times before you die with "wait config" turned on.
