Naw I completely agree. Cost of living where I'm at is dirt cheap, but around here he's making good money. But I'm with you, even above average welders, and even if they make good money, there are other factors the ones on here that aren't trolling aren't considering is cost of living and just how much time is spent working.

I've generally always taken a job that pays less if it means less hours work. For me, success isn't specifically about the money, but having enough to support my life style. I'm a simple guy, so I make 40k as a teacher and that's more than enough.

No wife, and I consider the kids at school my kids, so sometimes I spend money on them, but otherwise making too much more money I think would make me a target for those shitty parent organization or teacher's unions (which I'm not apart of)
