The whole point of them is to keep a constant growl at idle but not go overboard when revving high... since in my case, not having those on a system connected directly to the turbine and wastegate, would actually shoot flames... and not popping flames, continous flames until the temp goes down... and I already damaged a poor bastards car with non-silenced exhaust.

Because diesels don't actually go "louder"... On a diesel you can actually enhance the sound just a little, like a lambo at idle at that's about it, but on diesels you have to keep a constant back-pressure in the pipes so it can act like a turbo breaking system when the wastegate is engaged. Also wastegate over blow-off valve noises are fucking nasty, so you better "silence" them...
