>just finished this; one of the only movies that has genuinely terrified me
it's not really horror but it was super unnerving so ig it counts
I really like this one. It's about 10 years old or so. If you haven't seen it, try not to google the story.
The Blair Witch Project
>replies to a horror movie thread
>"it's not really horror"
so... you're retarded
This is the only movie that has actually kept me up at night and made me not sleep. Watched it when i was like 11.
>inb4 hurr duur some faggots shaking video camera in woods
No
I don't think I've seen a horror movie that actually gave me the creeps since I was fairly young, even watching those these days it's kind of meh. So I think I'll have to go with Pet Cemetery. That one gave me nightmares as a child. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a silly horror movie every now and then, even watching one right now to kill time.
I watched about 1/2 of it. It started good, but kinda flopped. However, it's worth it just for the first 14 minutes, when the french friend tells him he'll wait for him outside the bar as he meets his other friend for business.
i dont see you contributing anything faggot
When that movie ended i was basically like: what in the fuck did i just watch? I watched it while drunk though i think its meant to be watched on LSD
bump
I’ve been watching a whole lot of horror movies with my kid during this quarantine, and I’ve noticed that a lot of the shit that used to creep me out, isn’t that scary or unnerving. I think hereditary was pretty good. The witch was good too, just slow.
i feel like it would be a pretty upsetting experience if i was tripping tbh
i feel you user, i watched when i was like 12, 13 years old and was fucking terrified, the crazy thing is as an adult it is still a pretty good movie
>Hereditary
this
>hereditary
topeuropix.site
I'll check that out
If you like The Witch you should watch The Lighthouse, its written and directed by the same guy and its waayyy better. Its creepy as fuck and its amazing
I don't know if it's necessarily the scariest I've ever seen, but when it comes to also taking into account the atmosphere under which I saw it, this movie definitely. Even so, it's pretty darn spooky regardless
man you fags must be new
that movie is annoying as fuck and boring
I watched it in the movie theater too before you think I watched it on a phone like you fags these days
Can you not be a faggot?
Just finished the Final Destination series. Gotta admit that shit is hilarious as an adult. It's like watching a rekt thread full of Chinese.
Gotta say, the original Pet Semetary still freaks me out even as an adult.
I thought this one was pretty good, i havent seen a good "slasher" type film in a while and i really enjoyed this one
>The Witch
I glanced that as blair...
this was a great movie!
Are you ok? You must have a really bad day going on if you are personally offended by two random dudes who enjoy what's considered one of the most influential horror movies ever.
It's not my cup of tea but it has its place in history for a reason.
I came so much to that hoe watching this
I watched it on VHS on a shitty TV nigger i was a little kid and it looked real. And it still creeps me out to this day. Also kill yourself
>most influential horror movies ever.
hahahaha
I was waiting for a scene where her dad takes out some pent up aggression on the girl. But oh well
See i didnt really like that one but i thought The Lighthouse was amazing, im actually putting it in my top 10 favourites
It actually is though. You may not like it and it may not be from the "glory days" of horror, but he's not wrong.
there arent really that many truly scary movies
i just started dead space 3 (1 and 2 were clearly not meant for big tvs the resolution is horrible)
until you reach the ice planet (about 20% of the way in) its absolutely horrifying
I liked the cleavage part and when it showed a bit more skin i came buckets. Also liked when she stripped down at the end.
You can not like it and not be retarded. That's fine.
You can not like it and still think it's one of the most influential horror movies ever. That's fine too, it changed the genre for a good while.
You can't say it's not influential because you don't like it. That's like when my niece says I don't like something I'm cooking because she doesn't want to eat it.
if you haven't seen it, give this a try. it's worth an evening and some popcorn. Ethan Hawk
topeuropix.site
found it...cheers, will check it out.
deadspace 1 is by far the best. all the others were kind of bland.
Fucking underrated gem.
I can agree with this. I don't think it's as much of a thing of quality more than it's just the way I am when it comes to these things. I have been on a really big horror kick for these last few years because I really do think that we are living in a sort of horror movie Renaissance right now, but not many of them get me to be actually scared enough to not want to keep watching. Well...none. even the scariest ones, I want to keep going. That happens though with scary video games.
The first half of The Ritual.
easily one of the worst movies i've ever seen. also one of the least scary """horror""" movies i've ever seen.
: Saw it as well. Thanks. The ending leaves many questions unanswered. Great acting by Pattinson
Fun fact, the actor robert pattinson actually got hammered fucking drunk and acted crazy on set to get into character for that movie. Willem defoe said he almost punched him in the face at one point because he was being such a crazy piece of shit
: saw Children of the Corn and that still has its moments
Good opening and beginning but I think they jumped too much into the story telling and explained too much the second half. Best to leave a good amount of mystery with some slight hints.
Guys I dislike a big thing to hyperbolic levels and put quotation marks around it to try and let your interpretation of what I meant by that do the work instead of actually having an opinion.
That was gayer than you, faggot.
Dubz of truth
That was some good shit man, it was so visually jarring and yet you can’t look away. I went to japan trying to find that plce with all the weird lights and such.
Hereditary is shit
The thing 19somwthing version
??? What the hell are you on about retard
Every time I even think about John Carpenter's The Thing I have to deliberately forget it or it fucks with me for days.
Let me explain how bad it is for me briefly.
In grade school I got boiling water dumped on my lap, very severe 2nd degree burns. They said if it was any worse I would've required emergency transportation to a burn unit half a state away.
It was the worst pain of my life so far, and makes me empathize with burn victims to this day.
And if The Thing were real, I'd have no issue dousing myself in gasoline and lighting a match to ignite it all.
The whole concept of some thing using my body and my knowledge and memories to destroy everything I care about is horror on another fucking level to me.
Halo's Flood gets to me the same damn way.
Did you like the prequel? I liked it
No it's cgi garbage.
i have an 80 inch tv and ds1 is basically unplayable lol
Horror is cucking yourself. We're not meant to sit around being scared. We're meant to fight or run. To just sit there for 90 minutes intentionally trying to scare yourself is pathetic.
Having said that, Hereditary is probably the best horror movie of recent years.
Just watched the trailer, & one one the quotes was "genuinely terrifying"
Shill detected.
No it's not shill
Okay retard
thats the beauty of dead space
you start out scared shitless you can hardly even make your way around a corner
over time you realize the only way to beat the game is to man the fuck up at which point you become a space zombie killing machine
High Tension best horror movie I seen at the time. IT beat it though.
Rude.
Go fuck yourself.
You really need to see a specialist
Its a French movie. She masturbates to her friend.
