Medfags plz help:

Medfags plz help:

I was punched VERY hard in my leg a few inches above my knee a few months ago

I think maybe I tore an ACL or something because my knee was extremely swollen, I couldn't walk, excruciatingly painful for a week, and now 2 months later I feel pain underneath my kneecap when I try to jog.

Any advice?

Can't u afford to go to a doctor m8

If its ur acl thats no bueno u really want to check it out

Not a doctor but probably ACL or MCL go see an Orthopedic Surgeon/Doctor immediatley

user wtf go to a doctor you might need surgery asap

Damn
Theres really nothing I can do to try to rehab it on my own?

On top of me not being able to afford a doctor, I do not like modern medical science in regards to the understanding it has about the body healing.

For 100 years doctors told people to stay in bed when they were sick or after surgery, but know we know moving around a little bit is really good for the body and healing

I can walk fine now but I really want full mobility back without pain and was wondering if anyone knew anything

who punched you in the leg and why?

could be a dvt, go see a doctor

I had a knee injury a couple years ago. I wasn't sure it would ever heal but it ended up doing so after about 6 months to a year. Some injuries take longer to heal. It is possible it will heal on it's own. I would not get knee surgery if you can avoid it.

>Theres really nothing I can do to try to rehab it on my own?
No.

Possinly a minor femur fracture. You need a CT and intervention. Possibly surgical at this point. It's been too long. They'll likely have to rebreak it to set it.

Rheumatologist here thats a Knee effusion, fluid in the knee, base on the short history looks traumatic.

why don't you have hair above your knees

Don't listen to this retard OP, your knee could absolutely get worse go see a fucking Orthopedic Surgeon

Bullshit op there’s nothing wrong with them. Just rest.

There is a 33% chance with knee surgery you will have permanent pain. I would make CERTAIN you actually need surgery before getting it.

look at the utter and complete lack of muscle tone in the "healthy" leg

I didn't think about that
I feel like it's an ACL or something because that's like exactly where it hurts when I try to run or do a lunge but I'll look into it

What do you recommend to help it heal? Any rehab exercises or special diets?

Nothing?
Don't you think it's weird that humans lived for thousands of years without modern medicine and got along fine?
But now everyone acts like "yup thank you 19th century! Those 19th century guys got it ALL figured out with doctors, spirituality, politics, and literally every subject!"

When i tore my acromial clavicular ligament (or however it's called) i had to put a plate and some screws in there to heal that shit up. But that was a shoulder area. Treat yourself now, so it doesn't grow into a bigger problem later.

>Don't you think it's weird that humans lived for thousands of years without modern medicine and got along fine?
Did you get punched in the head too?

Medfag here let me know is interested on advise through text

Can you walk on it? I just kinda limped around on mine in my back yard and it gradually got better. Took a long time and there were times I thought about going in. It looks swollen to me. I did some research on my injury, I had a really bad meniscus tear, and the cap had moved some. It really seemed like it wasn't going to fully heal but it finally did after I started walking on it. Don't overdo it at first. 5-10 minutes should be enough. If it starts to hurt more when you are walking, stop.

Its not that important to know

I was worried about that too
I dont know though

So what do I do about it?
I can walk fine now. Been avle to walk just fine since March 1st. Now im focusing on getting back athletic movements
This happen January 19th

It will hurt to walk on it, but i mean if it gets worse while you are walking definitely stop.

>So what do I do
I can understand now why people are punching you all the time

Why do you shave your legs like that

>On top of me not being able to afford a doctor, I do not like modern medical science in regards to the understanding it has about the body healing.
Why the fuck do you ask for medfags then you absolute moron? go get a cristal healer then.
Also: imagine living in a country when you tore your fucking "knee" and you stay like that for fucking months AND THEN ask people online what you can do about it because you STILL can't afford a doctor.
Man, the U S of A really are really a first world country.

Ideally needs to be examined to consider the problem. Likely there is ligament damage. A thigh knee brace could help. But you are looking at permanent issues.

Can you tear a ligament by punching it? Is that realistic?

> do not like modern medical science in regards to the understanding it has about the body healing

Nice work on healing your injured leg user.

Being present for months? Are you fucking retarded?

Walk it off

>looking for medical advice
HURR DURR GO TO THE DR BRO

an ACL snapping is a horrible sound, but if it is that you have to get surgery that tendon will never repair itself.
Does your knee cap move more freely on the swollen side? could of even tore your patella tendon

Modern medicine is the greatest thing when it comes to surgeries.
You may need one.
I'll agree that modern medicine can fall on its ass with recovery (bed rest, and opioids) but you can't beat a repair.

All you can do is see a doctor to find out if surgery is required. If it's not, go see a physiotherapist.

I fucked up my hand a few years back, had to get surgery. Did the minimum amount of rest, then saw a therapist. She gave me lots of good stretches and dexterity exercises. In two weeks after the rest period, I went from not being able to make a fist, to full duty work as an electrician.

Student paramedic here, you may have burst your bursae, probably go to your nearest accident and emergency clinic nearby and explain what happened. Healing just involves immobilisation of the leg with a splint and rest. Would highly recommend not running or walking far until it has been checked out.

Got along fine, only many of them died from minor shit, and diseases, and plagues and infections we nowadays easily deal with.

I disagree, OP doesn't need that new age mumbo jumbo Medicine. He needs to stretch it out by running a full marathon.

Lmao

Forget it OP, you should keep it like that and NOT reproduce.

SERIOUSLY GIT A DOCTOR ASAP OMG

NOW NOW NOW

Go see a professional wtf its YOUR LEG ffs how are you even second guessing here

Sports medicine/emergency medicine physician here. Very unlikely to be ACL or a fracture with the mechanism unless you’re a frail little pussy boy. Probably minor injury to the distal quad tendon or a little pre-patellar bursitis. Either way walk it off, don’t do things that hurt. Get an ace wrap if you need. If you feel like it is unstable go get it checked out (feels like one bone sliding off of the other bone). Warning signs are sudden giving out like you’re walking and you just fall to the ground, or locking up where you’re stuck in a position- say 45 degrees and you actually cannot physically move it. Otherwise, stop being a pussy.

It honestly doesn't look that bad to me. Just rehab it with physical therapy on your own. Walk until the pain starts to get a little worse. I bet it will clear up.

Also, OP is a faggot

This guy knows what he is talking about.

Kneecap doesn't move any more freely than it did

Why?

Salty fag

No signs of just falling or giving out or locking up
Thanks for the advice
What would you recommend to rehab it?

Dont worry about it

plague doctor here.
My knowledge of the humors in the body is top notch. you sir need a bleeding right quick followed by a tincture of belladonna and mandragon applied upon the anus hourly. should that fail to bring succor your leg has become possessed and should be removed just below the knee and a peg of good oak fashioned to replace the wasted appendage

No strengthening at this time. Work on range of motion. You don’t want it to get tight. Minimize high impact activities. If you’re a runner, use a bike or elliptical. Again I can’t stress enough just don’t do things that hurt. You’ll have a hard time getting in actual PT right now without a prescription, but I’m not convinced you need to get seen right away. Nobody is going to MRI it anyways given the pandemic, no elective surgical procedures going on right now. You’d get an X-ray which would be negative and they’d tell you what I’m telling you right now. Unless something scary pops up like what I mentioned in my last post, or if you’re still miserable at 2 weeks, I wouldn’t get seen. Or if you get fevers, or if it gets red and hot.

This is the doc again btw

Thanks
This all happened January 19th
I could walk normally but carefully 1st week of March.
Now I'm just trying to get back to athletic movements

I have noticed my range of motion is not 100%. It's like 99%.
When I try to extend my leg from a sitting position it's like I can't get it all the way up. (Imagine a quad extension machine. That's what I'm trying to do)

modern doctor here.
What you need is to lay in bed for 6 weeks without getting up at all and take 4 opioids, a laxative, a diuretic, and these 3 SSRI and anti-psychosis meds. Then you need to eat just like the food pyramid says. 15 servings of bread and maybe 1 vegetable.

January 19th? I retract my prior statement. Is it still swollen like that or is that picture from shortly after? If it’s still swollen after 2 months, could be concerning. If it’s just the pain now but no swelling, probably just a bony contusion which can take a few months to heal, or patellofemoral syndrome that you developed from limping for awhile.

The pics I've been posting are all from January 19th, 20th, 21st. I was punched earlier in the day on Jan. 19
It looks completely normal looking at it from the outside now
Only symptoms left is that pain on the inside of my knee right behind the kneecap and only having 99% of my range of motion when I do a quad extension.

>Any advice?
see an expert
no one diagnosis from these pictures.

I'll do that a little bit more then along with the range of motion stuff someone mentioned

How did you injure yours?

Were you punched for being a Faggot? This part is very important for the healing process.

Wow haven't seen that pic posted on Yas Forums in years
Nice to see an oldfag not spamming BBC

Ok that’s good. So like I said probably either a bony contusion which is still healing, or patellofemora pain. Basically, patellofemoral pain is extremely common, especially after limping for a while. Your quad muscles typically pull your patella along a track at the end of your femur- the trochlear groove. Basically a limp will result in asymmetry of your quad muscles- usually some weakness of your medial quad muscles, and the asymmetry causes your patella to be pulled slightly off this track. Google patellar tracking, patellar taping, and medial quadriceps strengthening. If it’s a bone contusion though, it will get better- just give it time, and the above probably won’t help. Patellofemoral pain takes a good bit of time to heal so keep up with your medial quad exercises. I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the two without an exam- but try these things: if you push down directly on the kneecap and have pain, probably a contusion. If you have pain along the medial and lateral borders of the knee cap, or if you straighten your leg, relax it, apply pressure to the top of the knee cap and flex your quad (patellar inhibition test) then it’s probably patellofemoral. You still probably don’t need to get seen for this right now. If you try exercises for a month or two with no improvement, you’ll need physical therapy. Doesn’t sound like anything dangerous or surgical though

Expert here. He’ll be fine

Ah, you're a retard, that's your main issue.

Also that’ll be $220. This has already taken longer than my 15 min time slots
